They stare at them blankly, blinking a few times before responding. "..right." What comes out is a thickly accented voice, dry as if they haven't spoken in days, weeks maybe. They look down and just stare at the body laying in the snow, not moving at all.
“Do you have a home, friend?” They ask politely.
"I.. can't say." They sigh and make a small gesture, muttering something under their breath while they stare at the leopard. After a moment they turn back to the person. "Would you like to take this..? I can carry it if you need."
“No need. I can carry it myself.” The centurian bends its forelegs to reach, grabbing the carcass and slinging it over its back. “But you are welcome to come back with me. I would hate to leave someone in the snow as you are now.”
They nod silently, returning the dagger to the place within their torso. "I don't have any money, if you're looking for anything from me. Or possessions." They blink.

on a logistical level, you always knew Uralll was bigger than a normal giant of his age, but amongst human-sized architecture and amenities, he truly is.... well, enormous. he and his interpreter walk up to the Tayr, drop their arms to the sides and turn their palms out. “Yes.” Maja says softly “It is a pleasure to meet you, my Lady. I hope your travel here was pleasant?”

You are greeted by an army of servants, all dressed in fine, white robes and red turbans. They escort you, along with a troop of armored guards into the courtroom of the castle. There they announce you, your entourage, your city, your kingdom, and all your titles to the gathered nobles. All along the sides of the room are low tables that barely come up to your knees which are heavily laden with platters of brown rice and lamb meat, roasted goat, simmering soups, and dumplings flavored with exotic spices. Almost everything hear leaves a spicy taint on your tongue. Steaming pots of tea are ever present, as soon as one begins to lose its steam it is instantly replaced by a servant whose entire duty is to handle the boiling of the tea water.
Thick carpets covered in fantastic designs of soldiers slaying lions, Bisonboar hunts, raging elephants, dancing women, blooming flowers, twisting vines, and elegant birds cover certain sections of the floor, but there is not a single chair in the entire hall. Behind the carpeted dais is a detailed mosaic of an amalgamation of hands grasping arms grasping hands grasping arms with fingers intertwined in complex patterns.
The Tayr himself wades through the crowd, towering over almost anyone he passes by. His long black hair flows down his back and a short golden crown-band is bound around his forehead. He wears a maroon robe hemmed in gold and patterned with golden stars. Each newcomer is introduced to him personally and he thanks each guest for coming.
The emissary from Vonstradt arrives dressed simply, as they always seem to be, in a kilt of pine-like green bordered with white, woven from some kind of plant-based thick weave. The only concession to ornament is a wreath-like necklace of horn that sits snugly over their upper chest. They travel without entourage, though they do carry an oval shield of tough hide, and a well-ornamented hilt of wood curves out of the wide sash around their waist. This one’s scales are a deep brown, suitable for camouflage but also very distinctive surrounded by the luxury of the Tayr’s hall. Once their personal escort has allowed them to wander freely they seek the Tayr in haste, to speak with him directly, taking a little time to admire the craft involved in the mosaics and to feel the texture of the carpet with one clawed hand.
You find the Tayr sitting upon his dais. He is speaking to what appears to be a hushed servant but waves the man away upon seeing your approach.
“Noble Tayr! Is that the correct address? My name is Nikorev, ambassador of the Autarch and world-renowned diplomat and trader, as well as accomplished scholar and student of martial practice.” Their list of accomplishments tumbles out almost too fast to follow. “The Autarch sends its deepest apologies that it could not attend your feast due to something of a logistical impossibility, and sends my humble self in its presence. I am temporarily empowered to speak on the Autarch’s behalf and hope to cultivate friendships and, most importantly, trade, that will last for many years to come.” Nikorev bows formally and then immediately resumes their lackadaisical standing position.
"Please, you can simply call me Tayr." He says with a smile. "And please give my regards to the Autarch. A trade agreement would be most welcome. I have heard you have expanded recently. It was Adelheid you established, yes?"
The palace seems to be a very old construction. You walk from expansive room to lengthy hall to expansive room again. Many of the walls are covered in covered in strange carvings of long necked birds with open wings, horse riding men with falcons on their arms, and man headed beasts with folded wings. You regularly pass patrols of guards and bustling servants. Most doors are open, but in a far off corner of the castle you come across a heavily bolted door that is locked.
Thorne briefly enters his lycanthrope form to break the lock then reverts back into human form and enters the room
The door leads to a spiraling staircase that leads down into a dark corridor. You can tell this is a new construction. There is less ornamentation carving on the walls and the bricks look newer.
*oh, by the way, I’m officially making the limit on any important buildings 2 per settlement. This is subject to change in the future, of course.*
<Ok, will remove any extras. (Already grew to metropolis tho... do you want me to change that?)>
*Doesn’t your population category only increase every 20 days by default?*
<5 Great Farms = 0 growth time. Thus, Metropolis. I could also do 2 Great farms, 2 Plantations, and 2 Large Farms, and 2 Farms and still get 0 growth time, so...>
*I don't think you can start with a great farm. You start as a town and you have to wait to be a city to get them. I think.*
Arriving at the royal court alongside four guards in bronze-and-silver armor, whom remain outside the palace, is the Grand Architect Jeeves- A small, completely smooth bronze orb only the size of an orange, which inexplicably levitates about four feet off the ground as they drift around. They walk through the crowd of castle staff, greeting and thanking all of them with a voice that absolutely radiates warmth and kindness- in fact, even those who have never met them before feel an odd sense of comfort just by being near them. While they're absolutely content to strike up friendly conversation with anyone they meet, they are also keeping a nonexistent eye out for other major powers to befriend.
A noble woman approaches the orb. She has black hair pulled back in a long braid that falls over her shoulder. She wears a rich brown gown patterned with silver details and her arms are covered in silver bangles. She bows as she approaches you and says, "You are the Grand Architect Jeeves, are you not? I am Tsazona Bajir, head of the Bajir House. I'm delighted to have the chance to meet you." She seems to be a very serious woman, not one for careless talk or wasted time.
The orb lowers slightly in its hovering height for a moment- the closest approximation to bowing slightly it can make. "Indeed I am! I am pleased to make your acquaintance as well, Ms. Bajir." They respond with all the merriment and warmth in the world in their voice, which seems to be their normal tone of speaking.
"I have read your Book of Bronze and find it to be very fascinating, though that is not what I wish to speak on. Rather, it is your mining industry. I'm not mistaken in my understanding that your people dig deep tunnels into the earth?"

“Well, friend Tayr, I’m glad you feel as I do. Yes - Adelheid is just founded, after some hard labouring, and we hope it becomes prosperous in the future - and to that end I am happy to discuss arrangements of mutual benefit. To cut to the quick, what is it you are in need of?” Nikorev’s crocodilian face makes them difficult to read, but they sounds genuinely pleased, going by their tone.
