I'm 54 and have been playing Ad&d since 1980. I work as a waiter in hot springs Arkansas. Big fan and critter of critical role. Haven't had much experience with 5e but learning. Sadly not much time atm for actually playing. Living vicariously through critical role. Cheers to you all
I grew up in Indiana playing 1st Edition/Advanced D&D with my dad, and now I play 5th Edition and Advanced D&D with a group of friends who still share my love of the game. I am the most experienced in the group and love to be both a DM and a player. I love roleplaying and have more characters than I can count (seriously, I have a lot).
Aside from D&D, my other hobbies are: writing poetry, playing Nintendo, daydreaming, and visiting family.
I'm Pale (It's pronounced like Ale but with a P in front of it!) =)
Life long (35) Pennsylvanian, near Philly. I started playing RPGs at 14 by playing everything BUT D&D until I was like... 18 (so 3rd Edition). I fell in love with running games early in my RPG playing career. I've yet to run a game of D&D for more than a small handful of sessions (less then 5). I've run numerous longer campaigns of other games (7th Sea, BESM, Changeling: the Dreaming, Legend of the Five Rings, Vampire: the Masquerade, Werewolf: the Apocalypse to name a few).
I've been super into collecting 5e and aspire to one day run a successful campaign. I'm in between gaming groups at the moment as my wife and I just had a daughter but I'm hopeful that some online gaming might remedy that. I like listening to podcasts (some about gaming, some not). What else... I'm an Aquarius... I like Piña Coladas and getting caught in the rain... No. Wait. That's not me.
I'm over 50 years old. I started playing D&D back in 1978, and continued playing into the early 80's, along with a few other early RPG's like Gamma World. In the mid-80's I joined the military. I kept up with what was going on with AD&D 2nd edition by stopping in on gaming/comic book stores every so often, but I didn't have any time to play. I got back into gaming in the early 90's mainly playing Shadowrun, and White Wolf product line. I got back into D&D when 3rd edition came out, and also played a bit of Pathfinder, but kept coming back to D&D, and I've been playing D&D fairly regularly ever since. During that time I became a middle school teacher and worked in education for 20 years, and often ran an after-school game club giving kids a place to play Magic the Gather, D&D, and board games. I enjoy all kinds of gaming, I like drawing, hunting, and I'm starting to get into making knives. RPG gaming is a great pastime, It's how I met my wife, and I have two kids who are also gamers. Keep on Gaming.
Hello! I'm 24 and have been playing TTRPGs for around five years now. I originally started with Shadowrun, then went into Pathfinder and from there into D&D. I've primarily just been a player, although I started DMing a few months ago for a group by running Lost Mines, and now we're doing Out of the Abyss. I've found DMing to be a whole lotta fun, and I think I actually prefer it to being a player. I'm also a bit of a metal-head (a lot of a one actually), and an avid reader. Good to meet all of ya!
Im in my late 40s and enjoy many different types of games (D&D is my favorite, though). Started playing back in 1981 when I was a kid with my father and his friends. Just started with 5th edition and really like the mechanics and style. I used to play 2nd and 3rd editions, as well. Always looking for a game and ideas. Hope to see you all in the realms!
So, I am 24 years old and engaged as of early July. Started playing DnD a few years ago when my oldest brother got me into playing a micro campaign (as in 1 session) with my other older brother. From there I got interested into playing it even going into making a campaign (flubbed at that since I abandoned the idea). Mainly into 5th edition (since that is what I know and can easily follow), but as of right now I am in a Starfinder campaign with a ship full of homicidal dolts (also have an "Australian campaign" (as it has been called) on hold), but always on the lookout for a good DnD campaign to actually use 1 of 6 characters I have in storage.
Edit: Almost forgot, but what got me into DnD was really the story that a player creates with others and the world building aspect of it.
Hi Everyone. I was born in '81, and i was a fan of DnD when i was a kid. Unfortunately I never had a chance to play it. But played other roleplaying games (mainly the DnD equivalent and translation which was available in my home country.)
Currently living in UK for several years now. One day my girlfriend drawn my attention to Critical Role.... After many years DnD found me again. This time I watch (and try to catch up with) Critical Role. Also been thinking to start playing as I wanted to do so for so many years.... I am a newbie, of course, but would like to start play DnD.
Looking forward to find a group locally or through Discord.
Let's see... I just turned 49 and I first played D&D around 1980, first with the Basic and Expert rules, then with AD&D. Started a Dungeons and Dragons Club when I was in grade 9 with a group, and played a fair bit during high school (including with a couple of teachers!). Branched out to other RPGs, like Traveller, Marvel Super Heroes, Gamma World, Top Secret, TMNT, Star Frontiers, Palladium, MERP, Warhammer, Rifts, probably others I'm forgetting. Played a little 2nd edition in University, then had a HUGE gap from the early 90s with no RPGs until earlier this year when I (finally) returned to role playing with 5th edition. I really like the rules; it's a lot like AD&D, but with some things improved (like better AC being a high number makes things a LOT easier).
Looking forward to find a group locally or through Discord.
While it's not exactly North Somerset there's a roleplaying club in Taunton . If you do a search on meetup for Tauton and roleplaying games you should find them. It's probably a 30 or 40 minute drive from where you are.
There's also a club in Yeovil (http://www.yeovilgames.co.uk/) that I know of. That's a longer jaunt (you're probably talking 50 mins to an hour drive away) but they're generally a friendly bunch even though I don't play with them much anymore.
Finally you're on the doorstep of Bristol. Have a dig for Excelsior comics in Bristol. They have a games shop that does a fairly wide collection of RPGs and can probably put you in contact with players more local to you.

Thanks ! I've already joined to local RPG social-media groups. It seems some of them might have a room for me in their group. :)
Hey all! I'm a DM of 2 years (and some change), and I'm currently in school studying playwriting/acting. Fantasy (especially medieval-style fantasy) as a genre has always been a passion of mine. I started playing Warhammer & Warmachine in middle school, but I only ever wanted to do narrative games. On the Christmas eve of my eighth grade year my cousin invited me to a family game and my life hasn't been the same since!
I'm currently DMing two games in homebrew worlds, and I love swapping ideas around. Looking forward to chatting on the forums!
I am a 30 year old woman with autism who has been regularly playing D&D for about seven months now, and loving every minute of it. Playing a barbarian in our current campaign. Because of the last campaign, our DM has this rule: one business venture per adventuring party. We literally changed the economic and socio-political landscape of Ravnica in our first campaign by having multiple profitable businesses.
Other interests of mine include various video games, East Asian culture (traditional and popular), and the history of clothing throughout the ages.

Hello I'm a 29 year old man, I come from the North West of England.
What got me into DnD was the yogscast they did a short campaign which got me intrested. Then found out they have a group called The Highrollers. Which are all DnD. Loved there videos which made me need to play.
I'm at the moment a Dwarf Paladin with a pet rat, but also a practicing DM for my other half and one shots for my group.
Hey all! I'm Lynn, a 26-year-old girl from Groningen, the Netherlands. I'm interested in D&D in part because it helps me get better at social interaction and empathy, and helps me break away from my autistic tendencies. Years ago I played a mediocre campaign for a few games, and some one-shots at games workshops and fraternities ever since, but I just can't seem to find a steady group unfortunately.
I get my D&D fix from watching Critical Role. There's probably other stream shows out there that are more true to the D&D ruleset and the game in general, but I really really love Matt's storytelling and the voice actors' commitment to their character development. I love watching their story unfold. :3
Other artsy things: I absolutely adore all music! But my own niche is electronic music, especially the more obscure and artsy kind, or the more distorted punky kind. I go to a lot of music events and festivals. I'm closely involved with my favorite record label, The Funky Cat, and really enjoy helping them organize their events. I feel blessed to be part of such a tight community of amazing artists. I mix, mash, edit, remix and remaster music as a DJ and music producer as well. I've been a bit too burned out to find the creative energy to make my own tracks lately, but I'm working on getting back at it. Man, I freaking LOVE music and dancing, you guys, you don't even know... :P
Other things I like and do: I like to stay fit and healthy, I try to make my own fresh food as often as possible, and am always looking for new interesting ingredients and recipes. Also, as a true Dutch person: Take my bike everywhere! \o/ And I play games casually, enjoy having (respectful!) debates about political issues and other problems in society, and uh... Idk, I like exploring my own mind, its perks and its flaws, how the human condition is for me, learning about people and their experiences in general... Ammature anthropologist, if you will. :)
I just want to say I'm really glad you guys still build a community on a forum rather than a group on Facebook. You guys rule! :D
I'm 32 and live in the Netherlands. I DM for a group of friends and we're having a blast. I personally played a lot of D&D when I was younger (AD&D at first, 3rd edition when it was released) and was especially fond of the Planescape setting. Now that I'm older we're playing 5th edition and I'm introducing some extraplanar activities in our campaign. The other never really played before (we dipped our toes two years back but that quickly ended due to scheduling problems). It's been pretty hard to get our group together and even now we only play once every few weeks (wish it was more frequent, but hey, adult life and all).
I used to homebrew a lot of races and classes when I was younger, and am slowly creating some content for D&D Beyond as well (items, spells, etc). Can't wait for homebrew races and subclasses to become a thing here! Really excited about D&D beyond because I love playing with digital tools (as a DM, just having to carry my iPad instead of a pile of books and notes is great). Keep up the great work!
Hey! Great to see other people from the Netherlands. I hope you're still active. Could you maybe give me some pointers on advice on where/how to find a decent group?
Hello! I'm Amy, I am a 33 year old from Indiana, and I've been playing D&D off and on since 2007. It all happened because one Saturday, I decided to revisit a childhood friend in the neighborhood who I hadn't seen since grade school, and we were hanging out till he mentioned another friend of his was coming by later in the day to continue their D&D campaign. I asked if I could stay and watch and he was happy to let me, so I sat at the table and watched them while thumbing through his copy of the player's guide, and the DM was this very outgoing guy who had invited me to play with them about 7 or 8 times, but I defied convention at the time ("nobody just watches D&D" is a sentiment I haven't heard in years XD) and just sat back and watched the game play out. Because that's what being an extremely shy introvert on the spectrum gets you. But I still managed to come by the next weekend and created my first character, a human barbarian. Eventually, my friends got tired of the game and we all sorta split up in 2012 and I've been trying to find games ever since. For obvious reasons, I couldn't bring myself to insert myself into public games at the local hobby shops, but I managed to find two or three groups since then, but every single one of them fell apart after a handful of meets because of scheduling conflicts. But a friend of mine on Twitch who's been out on a church mission is coming back home in December and we're both really thirsty for D&D, so he's been excited to make a campaign and I've been excited about getting some of our other friends involved.
Outside of that, my biggest love is videogames and I try to stream gameplay as often as I can on Twitch. I live with two other divas, I love rock and electronic music (not EDM) and my biggest aspiration is to publish a novel someday. Or at the very least, get out of debt, and then out of Indiana.

My name is Amy. My hobbies include D&D, streaming videogames, and huffing cat bellies. Ask me about huffing cat bellies.
I'm Marco, 40, from Germany. Started in 1992 with Dark Eye (German System) and AD&D from 1994. We then moved to Shadowrun completely, played only SR for years, and then I got sidelined with a serious case of disinterest for a few years. Started again a few years back, now we're into SR and D&D, but I gotta admit, I'm only REALLY interested in D&D... I play SR because I like to hang with my friends. I'm usually the kinda guy to play the stuff the others don't want to or the DM needs, as long as I can add a little comedy to it. ;)
Aside from RPGs, I'm into sports (Swimming, Judo) and the typical nerd stuff (Star Wars, LotR, Harry Potter, Anime, TV Series, Nintendo and PC gaming...)
English is only my 2nd language, so please excuse any mistakes I make and correct me, please!
I’m 24 years old and from Arizona. I recently picked up D&D again after about a year hiatus. After some searching I’m finally in a D&D group with great friends :). I’m typically a fierce elf fighter with a few character flaws. Other than D&D I go to a lot of music shows, and go out with my friends. I’m always up to something! The few times I have to myself, my nose is in a book, writing, or reading from my kindle app. I also love anime and the Sims.
Let’s be friends!

More than likely a fierce high elf who naively falls for things but takes no shit.
My name is Joseph and I'm 47 ( this June I'll be 48 ). I'm from Barcelona ( Spain ). I started playing games at my 7th anniversary, when my father brought at home the first PC called ORIC 1..... ( an 8-bits generation PC, only known in England and France ). I wasted almost 6 years of my younghood playing with that "machine", and also the later version of that PC called ORIC ATMOS. since then, I had the stubborn thought to become, or a game designer, or a game programmer. But, when a random teacher told me the HIGH-exam results required to become on of those were ( MATHS, PHISICS, ENGLISH, AND RELIGION ), then I started paniking because THOSE results weren't obviously my "preferred themes".
Then, I became a usual player of those retro-ARCADE machines, from the PUBs and saloons. I joined, at the age of 15, a random homemade/homebrewed 1st ed. D&D campaign ( performed by 2 GMs and 7 players, including me ). We did our best there, and also getting good vibes. But, since I had not enough money to buy the 1st ed. D&D player manuals nore the Dungeon Master manuals, I only had the chance to .... ahemmmm... manually fotocopy those books ( I hope I don't gonna be arrested for that ..xDD ).
Since that day, I never joined another random D&D campaign, because I had to earn money by myself... ( insert a long term pause ), since nowadays, while I was navigating on some Youtube channels, I found a D&D channel. I was surprised finding the WotC's YT channel too. And, since then, I joined on this website, just waiting for a chance to join in a random D&D campaign, and remember those old times.
My preferred chars are : Wizards // Paladins // Clericals ..... Because I always liked the idea of storming the fields with magic ( here and there ), or else being the Party-Keeper ( in a Full Support build ).
I started playing back in high school, in 3.5... Now I've had a little experience with DMing, and I enjoy coming up with campaign ideas a lot, but I'm currently very happy to just be a player (doesn't hurt that I have a DM who's got a great world to explore with a lot of wide open sandbox to find quests in). D&D is one of my big things that I'm into, I have WAY too many dice, and more minis than I can use. (Although it's nice to be the person at the table everyone knows they can turn to if they realize once they get to the table that they left their dice in the wrong bag-- plus, before the rest of the group started to get their own minis, I could cover everyone even if they didn't quite match up. I'm the Dice Mom Friend and I'm okay with that. I also always have two extra pencils in my D&D bag)
Aside from D&D, I love... all kinds of games, really. I'm big into board games, and I've grown up playing video games, starting back on the Sega Genesis. I love books and movies, mostly horror, sci-fi, and fantasy, though I wish I spent more time reading now than I do. I'm one of two bakers in my current game group. I first built what would become my miniature painting skills in the doll world-- my grandmother collected dolls, and then my sister introduced me to the world of serious customization, so even though I wasn't a doll kid before, it's helped steady my hand. On a much larger scale, I've done theatrical makeup back when I was a theatre major, but it's been a while now since I've been involved in a show. I like going to plays when I get the chance, though! I think D&D probably helped prepare me back when I took a class in improv, and I think having been involved in theatre from a young age helped me get into the roleplaying side of roleplaying games.
I'm a freelance writer (what I tend to sell when I do sell is very short bits of non-fiction, but what I like to work on is novels I never finish), and I've got an ENORMOUS cat (as best we can tell given his rescue background, roughly half Birman and half Maine Coon), and he's my baby boy. (well, he's an old boy now, but he's still baby)

Hi
Hi all!
Hi all !!
My Ready-to-rock&roll chars:
Dertinus Tristany // Amilcar Barca // Vicenç Sacrarius // Oriol Deulofeu // Grovtuk
