Tell us a little more about her. She’s half dwarf half wood elf?
Awesome! So what’s her story?
I’m asking you this stuff because it helps when you’re preparing a character for play to have at least a little backstory developed, preferably one that ties into your DM’s campaign.
But not if you're doing a screwball one-shot. Then you whip out your good old half-orc wizard with negative intelligence and a strength score of 20. Who casts all his spells by hurling exploding flumphs for various magical effects (I really like the Wild Magic barbarian in Tasha's btw - it looks so fun to play!).
Or Zorg, the human barbarian I ran for my friend’s long weekend mini-con. Zorg had Str 20 and Int 3. He kept hitting stuff until it didn’t move anymore. Then he ran into a goristro who did the same thing to him.

Well Lia is wood elf bard, and if you read her profile she's also a haunted one, the only thing that eases her cursed pain is by playing music and singing leading her to becoming a traveling bard, she's good with magic too but only knows a few spells not the destructive kind but that kind that helps her survive
(That's all I got for right now, I'll probably add more to her profile later today, I have errands to do in RL later btw)

Very cool. I don’t think I can read her profile on my phone. What is she haunted by?

Just alot of darkness in her life, village burned to the ground by humans (No offense to anyone who's characters are human), lost her family etc.

I understand. Sounds like a cool backstory. Have fun running her.

Hello I Actually haven't gotten to play in my first campaign but I am really want to jump in. If anyone has a game with a spot and doesn't mind a noob pm me
If you want a campaign, I recommend you go to the PbP section of the forums. If you want some fun roleplay (and pretty much nothing else), then create a character (you don't even need a sheet) and jump right into the Tales of Adventurers' Tavern thread.
I normally read and not reply - but had to say that it is great to see some "Veterans" in here (@TheCatInBlack and @Lord_Blaine). No disrespect to any of you youngsters out there or beginners. The reason I returned to this great game was because of my kids..
I am 50 yrs old physically but more like 19yrs old in my own mind. I am a proud Canadian and father of 2 great young adults, both of whom I play D&D with. I am a College Professor and teach Natural Resources Law - (Ranger School - former profession). I, like other Veterans, began with AD&D years ago, but I absolutely love 5e and all the tools out there to make running games easy and fun. I love to DM home brews, and create interesting adventures for my players. I currently run 2 games and play in 2 others. I never would have picked it up again if it weren't for my kids - it has been a great way to connect with them and escape the woes of this world for awhile and have some good fun adventuring with others. I have also met some fantastic players and DM's through playing online, and I have greatly enhanced my "digital" skill set - learning to make awesome dungeon maps, adventures and running games.
D&D is simply great in so many ways - socially, mentally and creatively. One of my teaching colleagues in an Ivy Leage school in the USA uses D&D to teach students about Greek History - don't let anyone tell you D&D is a waste of time. For me, it has kept me sane during so much time at home and re-connected me to my kids and many new friends.
May the Force be with you all.
PS. I am always willing to share ideas, advice and tricks for running a good game, especially without spending too much of your hard-earned gold - so many ways to run a good game without spending more than a few copper pieces.

I played an orc paladin once with 5 strength and 16 intelligence. He was actually a good character.
He sounds awesome! Zorg would’ve liked him. He liked smart people.
Hi fellow nerds, I'm Cyber and I'm a 17 year old new player and DM.
I first started playing in 2019 at a summer camp I work at but the game kind of just fizzled out and never really got started. So this year out of quarantine boredom I gathered a small group of friends and my sister (virtually of course) to run a game as DM for the first time. I learned how to properly DM by watching hours upon hours of Critical Role campaign 2 and JoCrap's "A Crap Guide to D&D". I'm still getting the hang of this whole thing but I'm learning as I go. I can't take credit for the whole story of the game I'm currently running because my brother helps me write it and come up with the plot and such. My hobbies other than D&Dare art, claywork, crafting, and cosplaying.
The campaign I am currently running, with the help of my brother, is a home brew campaign called "The Lost Amulet of Travalion". It's fun and chaotic and my players are all having a great time except Felix, Felix died twice.
I'm MonkMulticlasser, I got into D&D (5e anyway.) in early december of 2019, when I heard great things about it from a friend, I bought the PHB from my local comic book shop and was mystified by the system, I promptly rolled up a White Dragonborn dragonblood sorcerer and would have him fight some random animals or zombies, then I received the essentials kit for christmas and promptly ran a Dragon of icespire peak adventure for my Father and brother, I enjoyed homebrewing and reading homebrew.
I enjoy homebrewing settings (or at least trying to), and I enjoy a well-done homebrew, and occasionally DM.
I play a purrline ( homebrew kitten race ) gunslinger and a vampire Bloodhound bruiser.
I am a homebrew FIEND.
I love anime/manga but I watch/read very little these days ':(
Former brony.
I am indifferent to Critical Role but am a huge fan of the Gunslinger.
I enjoy drawing and take pride in it's mediocrity.

Welcome. Totally agree.
Welcome to the Dungeon. Great to have another Veteran here :-)
Wizards are the annoying ones! Paladins RULE! LOL
I don't think we're going to get along.
