So, this is a bit of a thought experiment of mine, but the base idea is that you suddenly become a Level 1 D&D character. However, you are stuck with the current 'stats' you currently have. As such, what would your stats be, and what class would you end up choosing as your starting class?
I have dabbled with this across many RPG systems over the years, it was referred to as an avatar campaign; play yourself in ___________ world. Had some fun with the concept playing The Price of Freedom (like the movie Red Dawn), Boot Hill (western game), Top Secret (James Bond-style game) and Vampire: The Masquerade; along with D&D, of course.
Using the quiz posted above (thanks EEDNB!), here are my stats (I am a 49 year old veteran, so the info below reflects that):
Ranger was listed in the detailed results as an equal class option, it ranked the same as Paladin/Cleric. I personally think my CON should be closer to 10 or 12, but everything else seems about right.
I will point out that that quiz, if you look at its stats on the page, seems to lean toward extremes and generally gives very good scores even compared to "heroic" actual characters.
I'm definitely not the strongest person in the world and I've broken more bones than I can count, but I'm decently smart and graduated both my bachelor's and master's with honors.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
147181415... nope
on the real tho probably |STR 12 (assuming that babies are 1 and pro athletes are 18 and professional weightlifters are 20)| |Dex 11 not super flexible, but i got moves| |Con 20 (I'[m not injury prone at all, never had any broken bones stitches etc, even though i've had my share of close calls)| |Int 14 maybe a little smarter than average)| |Wis 16 I see things in ways other ppl dont| |Charisma Ability scores: 14 I'm rlly not sure somewhere between 3-18 Rolled cuz im not sure but 14 seems right)
Class.... Not Bard, i have no musical aptitude, Not Monk, if imma fight imma take some weapons, Not Paladin, Bc i hate them and while God is important im not a holy warrior, Not cleric, Again, god's important, but im no priest, Not Barbarian, It takes alot to make me mad, and even then i ususally keep my cool for a whole lot more before i black out, Not fighter, I'm more of a lover, Not artificer, i don't have that type of mechanical aptitude, not wizard or sorcerer (i have no interest/ aptitude for the arcane, not druid i like nature, but not to that point and im not of celtic descent,
so maybe ranger or rogue, i like nature, i got moves, i can pass unnoticed by most,
background: Highwayman- i got me a sailor's mouth but i hate water.
Hmm... I'm not really sure. But, if I had to put myself as a D&D character, this is what I'd come up with...
STR: 12 (Not that athletic but not that weak either) DEX: 14 (I can be sneaky if I really want to, I have a pretty good reaction time, I think) CON: 18 (Never broken any bones, got a pretty strong immune system, etc.) INT: 16 (I think it's safe to say I was like the "brainiac" at school, but I'm not that much of a brainiac) WIS: 15 (I can be a bit of an idiot sometimes, but normally I'm sane, aware, etc.) CHA: 8 (I am definitely not good at striking up a conversation, I couldn't do that to save my life)
Class: Probably a Dex-based Fighter/Monk multiclass, going into Eldritch Knight subclass for Fighter.
8 str (I don’t do much physical activity I’m a n e r d)
14 dex (Can be fast in short bursts and am light on my feet)
10 con (Never really ever gotten hurt but IRL I would never be able to take many blows in combat.)
17 int (not a prodigy but quite smart despite dumb stuff I say/do. I often think of random b e e g brain stuff. Usually too b e e g brain for people to understand tho)
10 wis (Has good judgement sometimes but sometimes I just do random stuff because idk. Not anything bad just absurdly random stuff)
9 cha (Not good socially but can talk if I want to.)
I’d probably be an artificer. If not either a wizard.

To give an example, here's what I would have:
STR: 6 | DEX: 13 | CON: 14 | INT: 15 | WIS: 13 | CHA: 11
Class: Wizard
Please answer truthfully for this, as I may or may not be using answers for a story concept.
I would like to think of myself as a smart person, and I think I am, but beyond that... pretty average.
STR: 8 | DEX: 11 | CON: 8 | INT: 14 | WIS: 14 | CHA: 10
Class: Artificer or Wizard
D&D is a game for nerds... so I guess I'm one :p
STR: 15 | DEX: 8 | CON: 12 | INT: 14 | WIS: 8 | CHA: 10
Class: Eldritch Knight
Partway through the quest for absolute truth.
STR 8 | DEX 6 | CON 12 | INT 17 | WIS 7 | CHA 5 |
Class: Probably Artificer or Wizard
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Spells, Monsters, Subclasses, Races, Arcknight Class, Occultist Class, World, Enigmatic Esoterica forms
I also found a quiz that can do this for ya (and other stuff too)
http://easydamus.com/character.html
Personally:
STR 3 | DEX 17 | CON 12 | INT 16 | WIS 11 | CHA 4
Class: Probably Rogue (future arcane trickster)
Characters:
Borin, mountain dwarf cleric (knowledge) (inactive)
Varis Ilphelkiir, high elf bard (swords) (inactive)
Reckoner, warforged fighter (eldritch knight) (inactive)
Archduke Gerald, half-orc warlock (pact of the fire elemental) (inactive)
Kurak of Yini Chai, changeling sorcerer (blue draconic bloodline) (active)
Str 12, Dex 11, Con 10, Int 15, Wis 14, Cha 13
Class: Cleric (Life Domain). I'm a social work/psych student irl, so that feels right.
Wizard (Gandalf) of the Tolkien Club
STR 7, DEX 12, CON 12, INT 12, WIS 12, CHA 12.
Yes, I know that is a lot of 12s.
Class: Sorcerer-Rouge. Mostly sorcerer, but with roguish undertones. Expertise in Deception and Pursuasion.
Homebrew is fun.

Strength- 13 Dexterity- 15 Constitution- 14 Intelligence- 16 Wisdom- 15 Charisma- 16
Class: Paladin (primary)/Cleric (secondary) 3rd/3rd

My wife's stats (using the same quiz) are:
Strength- 10 Dexterity- 14 Constitution- 10 Intelligence- 14 Wisdom- 13 Charisma- 13
Class: Ranger 6th
I will point out that that quiz, if you look at its stats on the page, seems to lean toward extremes and generally gives very good scores even compared to "heroic" actual characters.
Wizard (Gandalf) of the Tolkien Club
8 str
14 dex
16 con
int 14
wis 10
cha 12
class: wizard
To be completely honest: STR 8, DEX 9, CON 10, INT 12, WIS 7, CHA 7, class Wizard. I'm a loser, so ya.
| STR 9 | DEX 12 | CON 7 | INT 16 | WIS 13 | CHA 15 |
Class: Bardificer (Bard 3/Artificer 2) [Audio Engineer]
I'm definitely not the strongest person in the world and I've broken more bones than I can count, but I'm decently smart and graduated both my bachelor's and master's with honors.

Cult of Sedge
Rangers are the best, and have always been the best
I love Homebrew
I hate paladins

Multiclass bard artificer
STR 13 | DEX 12 | CON 12 | INT 16 | WIS 10 | CHA 14
I would probably be a bard, but I could also be an artificer or rogue.
Please check out my homebrew and give me feedback!

I’d probably be an artificer. If not either a wizard.
Strength 9 (I don’t feel very strong but I am not far below my class mates)
Dexterity 12 (I have some ability to move quietly)
Constitution 10 (I can’t say that I like spicy stuff but I can eat it)

subclass (battlemaster) (I enjoy strategy games and tend to lead when none else steps up)
Mostly nocturnal
