I am Christian (Southern Baptist variety) and have been playing Dungeons & Dragons since 1975 (yeah, I am old). I have only had two Pastors that had a problem with it. I run three different groups for people and one is at church.
I'm Christian, believe in demons and all that, and I love D&D...so do many of my friends who are WAY more religious than I am. I did get into trouble when I was a kid for playing at my Christian high school, but that's another story.
Being blessed by the Christanity dosen't makes you a truly 100% christian......
I mean, when you was born, and before being 1 y.o., your parents dragged you to a church to be blessed by that Religion, right ???
So, in my case, when I went to school, and after realising all the teachers were clergys ( without the tunic ), and after realising all of them had the worst skill to teach everything but the religion.. I started looking at this religion with another eyes, IYKWIM. And, since then, I started being either a critic and a special "un-believer" to that Religion.
I am a Church of England Ordinand (training to be a Vicar), a bunch of us play a custom setting d&d game (our DM is an author) every second Wednesday :-) It's great

Lay pastor's kid here (with clergy on the other side of the family as well if you go back three or four generations), when I first mentioned that I'd been invited to join the D&D group at my high school, both my parents said 'ohh you should! I used to play that game back in the day'... so I guess for every scare-mongerer back in the days of the ol' Satanic Panic, you had a Good Christian Kid who just wanted to be a wizard for fun sometimes. Heck, my mom was raised Nazarene, and when she and her sisters got into the game in college I don't think my grandparents fussed, even though only a decade or so prior the family hadn't been allowed to go to the movies.

I feel like the Nazarene's the the UK are way less strict than in America... I heard that in some places they are not allowed to dance? (Although I'm not a Nazarene, I went to a Nazarene Theological College)
I brought D&D to my catholic school in the late 80s when I was eleven. At one point most of my class was playing. Then one kid told the principal there was demon worship and the game got banned. There were absolutely no demons of any kind. We were too low level for that. ;-)
So some of us switched to Battletech at school, and some played D&D outside of school. Life went on.

Not sure I know what you mean, (or if it’s appropriate here). Are you saying you’re a Christian but have rejected one particular form of Christianity? That’s fair enough, but in online communities, ultimately, we just have to extend grace, assume the best in others, and relate around what some have called ‘mere Christianity’ - the core tenets that all agree on without the denominational and sectarian arguments. All the more so in non-religious forums.
I said I rejected being a truly christian, because if it exist a burocratical paper that shows I'm Christian, in fact my thoughts are quite different. I don't either go every sunday to make confessions nore to "enjoy the priests salms & elses".. IYKWIM.
I believe there's a life after the death, I believe in ghosts, I believe in the Darvinisim theories, and also I believe in the life beyond this planet. Not to mention I totally reject the theory of a fully Flat planet ( it's a disgusting theory, huh ?? ).
Well, I agree with the flat earth thing. I wouldn’t call it disgusting, just bizarre/ignorant. I also certainly agree Christianity is not about your name on a piece of paper. There’s a lot I don’t like about church, and a lot I do. I’ve been around long enough to know there’s no perfect church (because there’s no perfect people). For me, Church is a whole lot bigger than just a Sunday service - it’s the people in fellowship with Christ and each other.

Yes I am glad to see people play D&D, now I'm not too open about my faith.

I am also a christian:
I was wondering, what is your favorite monster?
I want to see if there are any similarities between fellow Christians

I have submitted to join... the questions are a lil weird and left me wondering; why specifically reformed?
Usually the Reformed people are the ones who grew up with the most D&D hate. I'm Catholic though so yeah...I wish it was a little less specific.

Battletech back then was so much fun! We always used the custom mech options and came up with ridiculous designs.
