I counted running away as ceding to Svogthir. True polymorph isn't a sorcerer spell.

it's not running away to forfeit, it's using a spell in my arsenal to change the time of the battle. you have the exact same amount of prep time as me, to do what you wish in.
the true polymorph was hiring a wizard to do it, as you very well could do yourself.

Svogthir is absent so that they attack before you wake up. All the other fire giants that can fit within 240 feet of you attack with rocks.
