I'm actually reading The Silver Chair. (Chronicles of narnia)
Unfortunately, I've never read those before (or if I have, I've forgotten them already.) How is it?
The whole series honestly just has this classic feel to them, in my opinion. I grew up watching some of the movies, and I loved them. The stories are just engraved into my childhood. They are relatively short books, but there's seven total, I think. It's about some kids, brothers and sisters at first, that keep getting sucked into the land of Narnia, essentially a fantasy world.
I actually have really wanted to hear other people's opinions on the series though, because even though I love reading them, I feel for some reason that I'm biased to like them.
I read those, but it's been a while. I've actually never read the last one. I remember liking the one with the boat.
That was book 5, I believe. One of my faves so far as well :)

The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro, excellent
Agreed. Also the Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu. This ancient Japanese novel written during the Heian period is literally the first novel ever written (and by a woman too).
I saw an interesting question in a tor.com article the other day. What is the first line of the first book you have read/are reading/will read in 2023?
Mine is: “Welcome,” she said.
It’s from Skullduggery Pleasant book 15, until the end.

Mine's: "The man woke in the woods in the dark and the cold of the night he'd reach out to touch the child sleeping beside him."
It's from McCarthy's 'The Road.' I just finished it, I didn't like it.
What's your book about, and is it good?

The ending was very good, but the middle was a little tough to get through. Its hard to explain this book in particular without spoiling stuff, since it's book 15 of a series, but the series is about Valkyrie Cain, a girl who works with the skeleton detective Skullduggery Pleasant to solve magical crimes and stop evil sorcerers (which there are a lot- 15 books worth so far!) from destroying the world. It's very good.
i read the hobbit, and just started The Fellowship of The Ring. my dad had the extended edition movies and the normal ones, i have watched them too many times to count, and i mean the extended edtion which is about 6 movies each two hours, same with THE HOBBIT.
I’ve read the Hobbit, LotR and the Silmarillion.

Anyone have any book recommendations?
"Hero of the Heavens" (Title by Drummer)
Book 3 of Game of Thrones. Books 1 and 2 are good for setting the scene but 3 is the best. (4 and 5 kinda suck.)

What's it about?
Also I love your join date for some reason. So many 2s.

Anyone who hasn't read or isn't reading the Stormlight Archive series by Brandon Sanderson should consider that.
