Zuli does not balk at the feeling of the doorway. Instead, she pushes through as if it were totally normal. Once on the other side, she taps her foot, waiting for someone else to follow her lead. As she does, she looks around the room, taking in the sight with utter lack of interest. "I hate these kinds of tests," she sniffs.
She will wait for a while to see if anyone else comes through before proceeding.
“Let’s go!” Agnomally follows Zuli. Agnomally is an extremely small gnome with a large staff. Even in these dark and gloomy rooms, her draconian eyes sparkle with curiosity and her manner exudes confidence. She’s also my profile picture (though she is currently wingless).
Oh did you want a character description or just a description of how the character is doing whatever they are doing?
Zuli description: She is a woman of average hight and a warrior's build. Yet she has the lithe grace of a cat, her demeanor strongly portraying that of an apex predator. She has black hair and brilliant green eyes, which sometimes seem to glow. Her most defining feature is a wide scar that travels down from her right ear, over her eye and over the side of her nose. She wears a sleeveless, tan linen shirt and trousers that are slightly baggy on her. On her back are two long curved almost sickle-like sabers. She also carries a hip quiver and a longbow.
The rest of you watch as Clementine pushes through the darkness as well.
Clementine and Agnomally:
You push through the darkness, and it seems as if it's made of a strange, viscous liquid. Despite the unpleasant feeling of cold slime on your skin, you push through the other side. In front of you is yet another room, with matte black walls and a black floor. In the center of the room is a giant square net, with rigging going up to the ceiling. There's a single pie in the center of the net. It absolutely screams 'trap'.
On either side of the net there is a good 10 feet of space between it and the wall, providing enough space for you to walk next to the net without triggering it. On the other side of the room, there's another door---like the one you just walked into---with another sign with alternating lights. This one says something different, however: "A Test of Pattern Recognition". Zuli is standing next to you.
(ooc: Zuli, just a description of your character is fine! That's awesome, thanks.)
Darklis is a female amethyst dragonborn. She is wearing dark blueish grey plate armor and has a large flamburge on her back. She looks pretty young, she has a look in her eyes that say she has lived far longer and seen more than any living mortal should. She carries herself with confidence but does not appear cocky.

Does the net stay where it was? Agnomally has the Mage Hand offer the pie to the other characters. She is a bit concerned about touching the pie directly. “Hey Clementine, you’ve got protective things, right? Can you pick this up without touching it and figure out if it’s safe?”
After taking in her surroundings, Darklis looks closely at the rigging. She tries to determine how the trap would be set off and what might be the best way to disable it.

“Yeah sure!” Clementine dons a set of gloves and starts picking at the pie with some little pliers and medical tools. She’s trying her hardest to not touch the pie.
Zuli walks around behind the rigging, keeping an eye on the suspected trap. "Why not just throw that pie out the door we just came through?" She asked nonchalantly, "See if it goes through or not." She pulls out a saber and, standing as close to the wall as she can, reaches forward and cuts one of the cords on the netting in front of her just to see what happens.
You step up to the rigging, Darklis, being careful not to trigger anything on the floor. It looks like three rudimentary snare traps a few inches apart from each other, with a wire that goes across the length of the middle of the netting. The wire, and the snares are all made of very sturdy alloy steel. The actual snares themselves stand behind the middle wire; there's about the length of a 9" pie tin in between the wire and the row of snares, plus an inch or two extra. They're connected by another piece of wire. The rigging, comprised of a counterweight system that's attached to the snare, is connected to the corners of the net. The snare unhooks itself, the weights go down, the net goes up with whatever set it off inside it. You figure the best way to disarm the trap is to either cut the rigging and dropping the weight, or to activate it, but without stepping on the wire itself.
Clementine, using the Mage Hand as a table, you carefully dissect the pie. You take off the top layer of dough. Underneath, there comes the unmistakeable scent of apple pie filling. You look into the open faced pie, and there seems to be nothing strange in the filling. As far as you can tell, the pie is completely safe.
(ooc: Edit/ seems like Zuli beat me to it! I'll make a new post now.)
You all hear the very distinct sound of hemp rope splintering under Zuli's blade, and following it is the sound of a low hum as the cut end of the rope runs up into the ceiling. About 10 feet away from where Clementine and Agnomally stand, 10 iron bricks fall from the ceiling, hooked onto a metal brace that is connected to the rope that Zuli cut. It lands with a loud, sudden, and decided thump, startling everyone in the room for a second.

Once again, as you all push forward the same slimy ooze encapsulates you. After a second or two, you find yourselves in the next room. There is a stone wall on one side of the room; the rest of the room is bare. Bare, save for half of a stone golem that has been carved out of the wall, and a single circle of light directly in front of it. It doesn't seem like it can move from the spot it's carved into---only half of it's legs and torso are carved---and it is facing the circle of light. It's head and arms, however, are fully carved out of the stone. There is no door in sight, other than the one that you just came through.

Agnomally walks around the net to the next door. She will wait until everyone else has crossed the room, then use her Mage Hand to pick up the pie.

“Yeah that works…” Clementine is distractedly bottling up some of the goo from the doorway, she follows the group
Clementine, you're able to bottle a little bit of the liquid. Inside it's little container, it sloshes around unprompted, as if it's alive.
Agnomally, you cast Mage Hand, and it does as it's told. It swoops down and picks up the pie, and rushes back to hover next to you.

Yes, the net stays where it was. The Mage Hand didn't trigger anything.
