I will say it's easier to meet new people while you're in school. Get to know the people you sit with. (A good chunk of the people I met in college were just who happened to sit next to me.) Join clubs/groups. (Another chunk of people I met was via the Newman Center.)
Just gotta find those spaces where others are.
