On that note, Deryk walks in holding a very intricately carved bottle of a Dragon, " I found this, it's expensive and I would like the bottle back after you finish. "

 " Well, that changes things. There is a society focused on undead and stuff, go to the morgue on the other side of town and tell them these words. " Deryk then says *Death is not Death but a New Life* in infernal, " And repeat those words to the guy in the front. "

"Thank You, Deryk. Is the Halfling doing ok? I feel really bad for causing him trouble today?"

Rubies grabs the bottle and pulls out the cork with her left fang, before pouring a glass for both Mercy and herself.

Rubies holds out her glass waiting for Mercy to clink before she drinks

mercy finishes her drink gives back the bottle and goes looking for a nearby hospital

Twilight waddles to the center of the table and flips on its back, asking for scratches.

Rubies scratches Twilights tummy and gives Deryk 5 gold coins (as well as the cost for the bottle) before leaving for the morgue.

 Deryk brings out some half sized nuggets and some special dipping sauce

The Devil glares, a spark appearing in his hand. “They look raw. Maybe I could roast them? Alternatively, I’m looking for a job, so I’ll keep my temper until I explore a little more.”

Deryk casts firebolt on the nuggets then decides it would be a good time to continue napping until someone wakes him again

After several hours, Twilight runs back into the Inn and Tavern (B-lining it towards Deryk and licking him til he wakes).

“Well I met with that group and they said that I am a hopeful whatever that means. I’m supposed to meet them at midnight tonight. Can you give me any pointers on how to interview with them, Deryk?” Rubies blabs as she rushes in full of joy

Deryk wakes up from the licking, " What a way to wake up. " You don't know what that means, if it was a bad way to wake up or if it was okay, " Just, try not to talk about life too much, their leader is a Lich. or so they say and they all hope to live as one in undeath. Besides that, try not to talk down on them until you are admitted and given a place and rank, depending on how well you do in the Exam the secrets you can glean and the research you may find could help you. During the exam there will be a written and physical portion. I have no doubt you will do well on the written but the physical will be what worries me. "

* Physical portion of the test is called Blood and Fear

Participants are admitted one by one into a dark chamber 100 feet in every direction

Undead shamble through the place and all you can hear is the shuffling of feet and screams of those who have fallen. It will be the undead who choose who survive. 

Darkvision doesn't work since it is a magical darkness, no weapons, etcetera etcetera. *

 " After the trials only then will they trust you enough for you to interview them, you can try before but you won't get as much information. " Deryk yawns, " If there isn't anything else I need to check out my wine stores and make sure nothing is stolen. "

”I knew something was off with the leader but I thought he was just unique. Not a Lich. Also, would magic be a no for the trial? And how do you know so much?”
