11. The weak swordsman clings to his instrument. It is better you have a sword, but death must lie under your fingernails, if need be. Learn death with your elbows, death with your knees, and death with your thumbs and fingertips. It is said death with the tongue is useful, but I find words too soft an instrument to smash a man’s skull.

Not really, yes in terms of math and science. What if you went back there? You'd probably look like a fool to them in terms of what was important to the average person then. Idk, technical knowledge is only one form

Intelligence has gotten higher. What’s important to them then isn’t a measure of intelligence. Our critical thinking skills have evolved since then - intelligence is not really easily measurable either, but if we’re looking at quantifiable knowledge and and ability to come to conclusions, you would be much smarter than any medieval commoner. I mean, none of them were educated really anyways (if we’re discussing pre renaissance feudal Europe)

The issue with science being important back then is that due to the nature of science evolving as we learn more, so if you stated modern science to a scientist back then, youd be looked at as if you were baseless and insane. Youd basically need to learn the science specifically of the time, and then know every past study and experiment used to advance science to where it is now, and repeat them all in order
