*A ragged, hissing breath is drawn in the darkness. You thought you were alone in this abandoned house. Well, you thought it was abandoned.*
"Hey..."
*You brace for the worst. Screaming, violence, something awful. You're sure that you're too far from civilization to get a signal, and definitely too far to run back home.*
"...did I ever tell you guys about strugels?"
What is a strugel, I know what strudel is ‘cause I’m very German but what is strugel
They're a race I came up with. They're stout ferret-like creatures with white fur. They mark themselves with Ube juice, as Ube is their main crop. As a result, they have vibrant purple markings like masks, eyeliner, lipstick, skulls, pentagrams, whatever. They use the local surplus of geothermal energy in their homeland, Honkachu Island, to create steam tech. They also have giant, metal-scaled and -shelled snails that help them find truffles, and they get along well with the local hill giant population due to having plenty of molasses to go around.
Their society is very casual, with a focus on innovation and comfort. They have little interest in speed or efficiency, but making cool things is a popular pastime on Honkachu... or it was, until the Goldmen (humans) came and built New Babylon on top of Honkachu, incorporating the old bathhouses and steam generators into their construction and enslaving the strugels and giants.
Dude. That worldbuilding is so cool. I love it so much. You gotta do something with that. I would love to be in a campaign set there.
Oh, I have a ton more.
The reason the Goldmen colonized Honkachu is because underneath the volcanic island was the shed "husk" of a Great One, loaded with a magical sugar called Thalacrose. All magic in the setting requires Thalacrose since it's essentially crystalized divine energy.
The strugels, being small and knowing the layout of the undercity (known as the Boiler Layer), were tasked with mining out the husk, known as the Elder. Eventually, they formed a union and started reclaiming their culture and society. They made the mistake of not considering that the Goldmen might fight back. Union breakers attacked the strugels while they slept, culling their numbers severely. They call this event the Night of Clarity, when it finally became clear that this was how things were to stay.
Two egregores (think living urban legends) were born from the Night of Clarity. The first was Sucromancer, a "strugel ghost" and embodiment of the potential era and the hope the strugels had for their future before their fates were sealed. She is in control of the Thalacrose that the strugels refine and ship out. The other was a "human" simply called Dollmaker, who embodied the new and utter terror that strugels regarded Goldmen with. The Dollmaker owns the Black Ambulances, vans that go around and pick up random strugels and turn them into living dolls.
The Dollmaker is far stronger than the Sucromancer, as hope has fallen prey to fear in New Babylon.

I messed up this art I made and I’m so frustrated right now. Out of all things I expected making art to do, I least expected it to be rage inducing
(It wasn’t a masterpiece or even that skillful, I can probably recreate it but still very annoyed)
The thunderclouds broke up
And the rain dried up
The lighting let up
The clacking shutters just shut up
Was it a hand-drawing you were doing or something like that?

Hey

Anyone know a thing or two about Skyrim? If so I’ll elaborate
(just to be clear I know nothing about Skyrim, so like if you have any knowledge it’s helpful)
The thunderclouds broke up
And the rain dried up
The lighting let up
The clacking shutters just shut up
Oh look who it is. Yay.
What's life without a little war to spice things up? Anyone who worries about the little things should notice the bigger picture.
