I started watching my first anime and I must say...
Man have I been missing out lol
See I won’t watch Anime for these reasons:
1. I am not watching an off synced dubbing, and I don’t know Japanese
2. Why do they make like “huh” and “uh” and “UUh” noises, what’s that all about?
3. yknow a lot of Anime’s have very sexual plots and I just don’t really care for that
Im not saying an Anime is bad that you watch but in general I’m not going into it
1. Subtitles
2. Why do people make those noises irl?
3. That’s just incorrect. Only a few anime have obviously sexual themes. Is there some sexualization? Yes. Is it widespread? Not really. Most of the good ones just do it for comedy

O sorrow, I have ended, you see, by respecting you, because I am certain you will never leave me.
Ah! I realize it: your beauty lies in the force of your being. You are like those who never left the sad fireside corner of my poor black heart.
O my sorrow, you are better than a well-beloved: because I know that on the day of my final agony, you will be there, lying in my sheets, O sorrow, so that you might once again attempt to enter my heart.
As a man who doesn't watch much anime, I must confess:
It's like any other media, just with some more prevalent tropes that I enjoy very much.
Very true

3. So yes, I’m right, it’s just for comedy a lot of the time. Idk, that’s like saying, “there’s no violence, the violence is for comedy!” That doesn’t mean it’s not there in my opinion. yeah I know they don’t all have that super relevant in them all but you just made a very bad argument

1. That sounds like a skill issue. But seriously, how slow do you have to read if you can’t keep up with subtitles. That’s not an insult by the way. It’s a genuine question
2. Then I have no idea what you’re talking about
3. No, you’re still wrong. It is used, but not as often as you would think. What I said is that while it’s there, it is uncommon and when it is used, it’s used sparingly and for entertainment purposes. So my point still stands. Also, it’s not even the plot. It’s maybe 5-10 seconds of it, out of possible hundreds of episodes. Let’s take Gurren Lagan as an example. Is there the occasional more sexual joke. Yes. But that’s hardly important when the other 22 and a half minutes are what the show is actually about. And that’s just one episode. Pretty much what I’m saying is that you’re making mountains out of molehills

Yeah I certainly agree with a lot of those, you got to be careful with what you watch cause theres a lot of freaky ahh animes and boring basic trope-filled shounen but I am glad to say I have been careful in picking what to watch and it has payed off
If you ever do start watching, you should try Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, it's what I'm on right now and it 1. Has incredible dubbing and subbing 2. Doesn't have the excessive grunting and yelling 3. Avoids the freaky stuff
It also avoids a lot of tropes and has very original storytelling and GORGEOUS art

Frieren is a good one. The reason it has less grunting and yelling is because fighting is the focus, yet in the occasional fight, the choreography and animation is amazing

IMO, there are some better anime, but I enjoy more action based anime, so my opinion is biased. Plus, there are plenty of hidden gems. For example, Hell’s Paradise is a absolutely amazing anime, yet the hype around it is minimal.
