Sorry, just had flashbacks to when I was a retail worker....having to listen to the same 5 overplayed Christmas songs, Every. Single. Day. From the middle of October to mid January. It was torture.
One store I worked at started getting Christmas stuff in August.
But we didn't have music at that one so at least I was spared from that.
Yes. Mid November is when Christmas season really starts, and you should at least wait a couple days after Halloween before starting decorations.
However, people who are like “Christmas season! That’s only in December!” are kinda of annoying at times. Do you know everything there is to do for Christmas? It’s not wonder people want basically a month and a half, numerous movies and songs, tons of common traditions like seeing light shows. Also: decorating, potentially traveling if you’re family lives far away, hot chocolate, buying gifts, and a just generally busy season
Advent: Sunday 12/1/24 to Tuesday 12/24/24 Christmas Day 12/25/24 Then was taking a look at the upcomign 2025 liturgical year, 1/5/25 is the Second Sunday of Christmas followed by the Feast of the Epiphany the next day 1/6/25 And looks like green vestments (Ordinary Time) are back on 1/19/25 (but the quick thing I was looking at doesn't seem to include some of the minor changes, so might be as early as 1/13/25 that it's back to Ordinary Time.)
So... from one standpoint you could place the Christmas season all the way from December to almost halfway through January.

That doesn’t make them not valid. At the very least, wait until after thanksgiving to put up decorations. Anything earlier is just excessive. And sure, Christmas culture is plenty, but just because it’s popular doesn’t mean you should discredit one of the best holidays (thanksgiving) and there is much to do. Food, the Macy’s Parade, the football game, family and all kinds of other traditions instead of just opening presents and maybe watching a movie. I feel like the hype surrounding Christmas is more than the actual day itself
