And today something I thought was at one time turned out to be an hour later. (Which is AWESOME because it lets me get more sleep.)

How about Vecna Vs. either a group of like level 18 players or another strong monster?
Sure. Got 5/6 of my slots in active use at the moment. And I kind of want to get the Verdan Sorcerer used at some point. (I like the ideas of a fire-based sorcerer and letting him shine as a kind-hearted guy.) So I'm inclined to go with another strong monster. (I assume another CR 26 or similar?)

Plus in terms of which creatures I can see without needing content sharing, CR 24 is the highest I could go without going above CR 26. Vecna is actually the only CR 26 monster in my owned-list.)

They had never seen anything like him, so, in a decision that took a heartbeat to conclude, they chose to raise him as their own. Due to the love, care, and bountiful food of the Ghallanda (dragonmarked house of hospitality) halflings, Bartholomew grew very big, strong, and smart. He far outpaced other children in terms of development and education, which gave the parents an excuse to petition the house for more money to feed the ravenous boy.
Fast forward to the start of the Last War. Being labeled "E for Exceptional," Batholomew was one of the first to be drafted. He made it into the Marine Corps of Aundair by the end of his training. Other soldiers, even warforged, were impressed with his abilities. He effortlessly combined the arcane magics so common to the Aundairans with brutal martial prowess. He was as strong as an ox and twice as tough, not to mention that he was smart enough to make the heads of his commanding officers spin. Even better, he was sponsored by House Ghallanda, who provided him with his masterwork armor and his legendary Sledgestaff, as well as steep discounts at sponsored inns, taverns, and restaurants.
However, when he was relocated to Breland, things changed for him. The military there didn't care what a good boy he was, and rations were... well, rationed. So, to satiate his hunger, he began to eat unspeakable things such as diseased meat and vermin. This landed him the nickname "Plague Eater," since he seemed perfectly okay after cleaning out plagued rat colonies and eating things like used bandages from plague patients.
The huge lad died about 30 years into the war when he accidentally broke his staff, which exploded violently, leaving him a well-cooked fine pink mist.
Hundreds of years later, he is brought back by unknown means. His body is there, and he has his staff and armor... but he isn't really fully alive anymore. He found out that over the centuries, he's become something of a legendary figure. The stories are exaggerated to all hell, and are 50/50 on whether he was a monster or a great man.
