The parents of this character wanted a child but so far they could not have any. The father decided to risk his life and go to a dragon who lives in the mountains and ask for its blessing. The dragon gave him directions from a tree where he was to pick one of its fruit and bring it back to his wife. She would eat the fruit and it would cause her to bare a lovely child.
He went and got the fruit, but he disobeyed the dragons orders and took two, just in case. When his wife ate the first one, she went on to give birth to a beautiful child gifted in grace. Later she decided she wanted another child, so she ate the second fruit even though it was old and shriveled. She gave birth to a hideous dragon child.
The two children loved each other despite their differences, but they eventually had to grow up. The beautiful child went and got married, which saddened the dragon child for she knew such a fate was not for her.
Unfortunately, the dragon told the father to take the fruit from a tree that was not his. It was the tree of a powerful fey spirit who was angered by the theft. Because the children were born of his fruit, he believed them to be his, so he kidnapped the beautiful daughter. The dragon daughter was of no interest to him because of her hideous form.
So the rest of the story is about the dragon daughter going on to rescue her sister. The story will start a little before their birth and continue on until the sister is rescued and will follow the growth and development of the dragon child. It is heavily inspired by a Hellboy short story, random folklore, and my love for dragons.
Thanks, she is fun to play. I am actually thinking about trying to write a book about her.
I’m currently thinking of writing a book about a character that brings people to the afterlife, so basically a phycopomp.
Psychopomps are cool. I wrote a short story that was supposed to be about a bunch of psychopomps fighting each other for a guy's soul, but it turned into a story about a guy mourning his own death.

I still haven't finished writing it. I got stuck on the part when Death himself had to talk. I had been reading too much Terry Pratchett and he writes Death hilariously, which wouldn't fit the tone. I think I could finish it now, I just need to make the time.

Sometimes it’s ok to take breaks from projects. Sometimes people need some time to figure out what to do.

It’s so interesting how much stories can change throughout writing.

Thanks. Darn it, I just spoiled this characters backstory.
