Fun fact: the campaign I’m working on was originally going to be in the swampy part of Florida but I know more about the Rocky Mountains and I love the views there.

I don't know how to respond to that. Anger, rage, despair, pain!
Cool! What kind of campaign are you going for there? Like horror, heroic, ect.
Light horror. Crooked Moon is a folk horror setting, but it's not out yet. Thus, next September.
It's basically supposed to be the Halloween DnD book, as opposed to just another "grimdark" or "dark fantasy" book.
Think like Over the Garden Wall.
You showed me that setting and it looks so cool. I hope your game goes well. I like that they chose to do a folk horror theme instead of the usual "grimdark" or "dark fantasy" book.
I've always loved swamps, and I thought it would be cool to run a game set in one. Right now I'm running a campaign set in the mountains, and I don't like it very much.

Finding a setting like swamps or mountains is really cool. I was raised in Appalachia and so I like backwoods and mountain settings a lot. I still love other areas a lot and coming from Texas makes me love the dry hot wastelands. My favorite thing about picking an environment is finding real world people who live in that type of place and using their culture in the story.

As a Texan as well, I love Texas' culture, even if I ironically don't know it very well.
Actually, one of the reasons I love swamps so much is because of Venice and New Orleans. They both have such strong cultures (culture amplifies with tourism, and they both have a lot of that). Venice in particular has such interesting history and architecture that I literally stole it at one point because I knew I couldn't do a better job.

Texas is such a fun place. Everything down there is trying to kill you.
Venice and New Orleans have some incredibly interesting traditions. I really want to look into the carnival of Venice more. I love those types of unique costumes because they make cool character designs.

That's how I felt when I heard you weren't enjoying the mountain setting. Seeing as how you're from Texas though and that place is flatter than a fritter, I guess you are justified.

Freezing mountains in the eternal night does sound fun, but they don't really interest me. Plus, I don't really know much about what lives there or what to put there.

That's fair. I've found that I become far more interested in an environment after I've visited the place and learned about it.
If you think something is too expensive you can PM me a request to change the price, I am new to selling things and I don't quite know what to price things at yet.
