I got my opportunities back in Boy Scouts.
Shot some rifles which was neat. (And the camp also had shirts with targets on them you could use as targets and then wear back home as your "I got to shoot a gun!" shirt. Though I didn't buy any of those.)
Did a little with shotguns. Seeing the clay pigeon explode was neat. Plus reloading a shell was a unique experience. And then shooting the bullets you made.
Some Black Powder rifles at Philmont. Again, neat. Lots of smoke. And the loading process was fun to learn.
I've also got a friend who likes guns. Haven't done any shooting with him. But he enjoys showing off when he gets a new one.
