A kingdom making thread, where you have to carefully balance your control over government, military, and citizenry to have the richest most powerful kingdom. I have a lot of ideas for mechanics, but I feel like it's just getting cluttered.
I feel like I would end up creating an autocratic government that pushes everything towards the war effort in an effort to control the world. (I've seen it in Civilization V where I often go on Communist/Fascist runs for world domination. And even if I go with Democracy I'll adopt policies where I'm basically producing military units to buy influence with city-states in my quest to control the United Nations while being a jerk to the other major powers.)
My attitude towards games is quite different from my attitude towards real life.

Huh, interesting. I basically go with pure greed whenever I can, relying on economic power to dominate my foes.
Of course, that doesn't work in many games, but it is something I do whenever possible.
If i was running a government in a magical world, I would create a monarchy. Mostly because it’s like what people think of in a fantasy world, but also because it would be super easy to possess the next in line for the throne once you died and became a ghost because you weren’t done ruling!
I have a lot written out for it, if anyone wants to take it to a pm and help me out it would be greatly appreciated! And you'd get credit in the introduction if that's good enough incentive lol
