Hi there! My name's Elk. I'm NoiSilverheart's doppelgänger. I'm a demi/grayromantic, socially awkward Okie who may or may not be a pyromaniac. *random confetti blast*
I'm a warlock of the Archcrone, and my patron is TheFriendlyArchfey. I was nicknamed AchatesCervus8337 by VitusW and given the titles "Swashbuckling Scorcher", "The Unpredictable Jedi", "Burning Fury of the Ancients", and "Combustion Knight" by DrummerBoyDragonSlayer.
You can find me on forum games almost any day. Thanks to Drummer_The_Dragon_Slayer, I make things that should not exist. I also play as a Dragonborn monk.
Beware! I am Master of the Staff, fear me with passion!
I'm back from the dead! For now.
I'm going to befriend a crow. No-one will stop me.
RP wise I don't really have much time on my hands so I'll try.
better now but it felt like getting gut punched on the inside

Yo, I’m Himy, He/Him. I enjoy reading books, understanding why and how things work, anime/manga, video games and obviously, TTRPGS. I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I like to think Im close. I’m good at trivia, history and science
I struggle with empathy. If you’re not sure what I mean by that, it basically means it’s hard for me to understand the mental state of others and respond with the right emotions
better now but it felt like getting gut punched on the inside
Dang man hope you feel better.

i wish i could be home schooled. that sounds awesome
It has pros and cons
PROS: Getting up whenever you want as long as your work is done (within reason, but basically you can get up more on your terms) Spending less time with school (Driving, Homework, Walking, and generally a bit less work make it so that it takes up a LOT less time to do school) Vacation whenever (If you're not on the same schedule to be at school as all those other kids, you could technically take breaks whenever as long as you catch up or do more days in the summer or on typical breaks) No bullies (I've only been what I'd call bullied like twice in my entire life, once a couple kids sort of attacked me and another time a guy stole my hat and threw it in a garbage can) More freedom (Homeschooling is really flexible not only for schedule but for what you actually learn, to some degree) Breaks (Kind of in the More Freedom thing, but you dont have to do all your stuff in one go, you could take like 2 30 minute breaks to rest your mind, or a lot of 10 minute breaks, etc)
CONS: You dont see your friends at school (Once your 16 you could just drive to see your friends but you dont see anyone (besides your family) when your doing your school so generally you some people less, but at the same time there's not tons of talking time at schools i imagine) If Your family sucks, thats not gonna help (Generally, at the very least when your little, one of your parents is your teacher and they follow a curriculum (unless your unschooling) so if theyre hardcore republicans, they might be using curriculum that are super Racist, Homophobic, and other bad stuff and putting that into your head when your little. Also you;d be around your family a lot more so if they're ***** then that isn't helpful either)
thats all the pros and cons i can think of atm. Also some parents might give you less freedom like make you do all of your school in one go, etc. But if they're reasonable probably not as long as you get it done
Welp, I have no school friends (I've never set foot inside a school) and I use an online maths resource. I don't follow any curriculum whatsoever.
I grew up homeschooled as well and I loved it. It isn’t for everyone though. Different educational systems work for different people and one isn’t necessarily better than another.
In some places there are a lot of co-ops where a bunch of homeschool families bunch together to meet once or twice a week to teach. This can be a mixed bag. Sometimes you have great classes because the parents can teach something specific that they are experts in. Like when the engineer teaches you algebra, the phd scientist teaches you biology, the pastor teaches you Latin or Hebrew or the policeman teaches you self defense. Sometimes though you get stuck in a class with a teacher who doesn’t know the material and are just teaching straight from a textbook.
In co-ops like this you still get to meet people and hang out. I was able to participate in tons of homeschool sports leagues, dances, games, and events and so lack of social opportunities wasn’t a problem.
I was also able to specialize my learning a lot. I took double the amount of English and language classes than I really needed, my theater major mom taught me poetry and theater, I was able to study theology with my pastor, and my Mom noticed that I was spending lots of time reading and recording myths and folklore so she gave me credit for a folklore class as long as I presented my findings to her regularly.
I rate my homeschool experience 10/10. Would do it again.

Being homeschooled is nice. I obviously cannot say anything about comparing it to school as I've never been in one.
