I'm fine, but would like to rant.

Okay. 

So, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a misunderstood mental condition, and this misunderstanding literally leads to deaths. If people don't understand what something is, they don't know how to deal with that thing, and this can cause major issues. 

I have ASD, and this has caused major problems in my life, but not for the reason you think it would. There is nothing mentally wrong with me, even though it's called a "disorder". My brain just works differently. I can fixate on certain things, have difficulties in social situations, and not pick up on sarcasm/jokes sometimes, but these aren't issues. What are issues are how Autism is portrayed in the media, and how people think of Autism. 

Autism is not a curse, society is my curse. 

In the media, some characters on the Spectrum are portrayed in heavily negative ways, like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory (there are plenty of other examples, too). A lot of times in the media, Autism is portrayed as something that needs to be overcome or cured. They're also almost always straight white males in the media, and this is just not accurate. Some scientists estimate that an equal amount of females have ASD as males. Very rarely, a depiction is mostly unproblematic, and is a mostly okay depiction, like Abed from Community. 

Partially because of how the media depicts autism, society does not have a great understanding of what autism is. This leads to underdiagnoses, discrimination, and ableism against those on the Spectrum. In society, those with autism are expected/required to conform to society, and rejected unless they act normal. This leads to many, many problems in those with ASD. This can (and does) cause Anxiety disorders, Depression, Suicidal Thoughts, Suicide, and many other mental issues, all of which are caused by being rejected for who you truly are. 

Autism cannot and should not be overcome. Autism should not be cured, even though people are working to do that. Autism is merely a different way of thinking and communicating, and we are not inferior. Autism is not a "disorder," even though it is literally in the name of the term that marks us as different. We are different, but we're not lesser. 

(Sidenote: I hate antivaxxers. Apparently being ableist wasn't extreme enough for these idiots. They not only think Autism is a disease, but are stupid enough to think that life-saving vaccines cause it. Thank you antivaxxers for not only denying my humanity, but saying that you would rather have a dead child than an autistic child.)

Society needs to change. The world needs to change. The world is more accepting to the LGBTQ+ community and the BIPOC community. It is time for people to be more accepting to those with autism.

(About the antivaxers, some say it is against there religion (mainly christians) yet it isn’t, just because some Christians aren’t bright doesn’t mean we all are, and it makes me feel bad for some people who are very religious who are smart)

Those with Autism are still in the closet.

I’m glad you had fun at school, I’m starting soonish, last school year was awful, we don't get to choose are classes, so I had no friends   at all, and when I had made a friend in my class, the lockdown happened 

Yeah, last year stunk. But I’m at a new school, new a friend from track, and have some kids in my latin class that might do dnd with me (along with track dude)

I agree, but a lot of religions have a lot of people who are bigots/idiots. I certainly did not mean that religions are bigots or idiotic. I just mean that a lot of people take advantage of religion to excuse themselves for being bigots and idiots.

That's too bad. School should not be opening up, unless you are in a country besides the USA. 

We have a ton of stuff in place, such as: detention if seen without masks/not adhering to social distancing, one way hallways, much shorter lunch, 2 people per (massive) lunch table, plexiglass dividers everywhere, you have to use hand sanitizer every, like, 20 mins, and a ton of other stuff.

Yeah. If the classrooms are still full as much as they were before, masks are not going to change much. If during lunch even one person coughs, suddenly a bunch of people could be exposed.
