Oh, Dark, thought you might like this bit of homebrew lore I came up with:
Werewolves aren't as evil or vicious as they sound, and even a casual observer can glean this information. Sure, they don't get along well with people outside the pack, but they're closer to families of... well... I don't know how to say this politely, but they're hillbillies. Think Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but the family is not cannibalistic.
The leader of the pack is the oldest woman in the family. They go out hunting with shotguns and knives and chainsaws on full moon nights and bring their kills back to put on the barbecue. They only kill humanoids when they have no other options. They are xenophobic, but are willing to bring in human friends on rare occasions, such as weddings and birthdays.

That's awesome. I always love backwoods hillbilly monsters. Honestly, parts of this description match up well with several redneck families I know, minus the occasional cannibalism... I think.
Man, I wish it was December. I have a fun Christmas themed character that I want to play.
I guess Halloween is coming, maybe I should just make a Halloween character.

Too ****ing bad.

Aw man. I guess Halloween still has good folklore and legends. Wait... what am I thinking? Halloween has awesome folklore! The problem will be picking one.
Anyone else want an Elden Ring tavern?
I do, I just don't want it enough to make one myself.

the second looks cooler to me, but in terms of cheese volcano realness(which is of course a very important study), the first one is better i think

I am working on a town builder campaign for my players, and I'm building a new world to entertain them.
I'm letting them pick out some of the inspirations.

That sounds like it would be really fun for the players. Good idea.

It's a campaign for my live players, so sorry, you can't join it.
I may run it again for the forum folks, but only after I finish the campaign.
