Y'all I'm making a character for fun, and I am loving him
A lizardfolk beast master ranger/[insert subclass here] monk, born in the swamp and raised by his hunter-gatherer clan. He was taught the ways of the wild and trained as a hunter by the younger and stronger of the clan, and he was taught martial arts and the ways of the mind, body and soul by the clan elders. On one specific hunting trip, he was attacked by a giant lizard, and dispatched it easily, not realizing it was a mother just trying to protect her young. He later found her nest, and the lone egg sitting there. He took it home, swearing to care for it like a brother in remorse for unknowingly killing its mother.
Most important takeaway: he was raised in the swamp, and can never resist playing in a good puddle of mud. He literally looks like a baby taking a bath when he's in a good mud puddle.
