I need inspiration on a theme for a dungeon for, let's say, 5 lv5 adventurers.
Theme like story, or theme like vibe?
Kinda more like a vibe I guess? I've had an idea for running a campaign that's various dungeon crawls. And figure I want to design some dungeons prior.

what was that witch up to?
the floor. The ceiling. The walls. The WATER. It’s all candy. The monsters, candy. Even the traps? Candy. Call it something like Hansel’s haven. Every once in a while, the party needs to make a check to resist eating the sweet, sweet Candy. If they do, well then, they just took a bite out of a bunch of moss. It’s all fake, and most of it is poisonous!
Also, while I'm thinking about it, what are y'all's thoughts on the Great Troll Debate?
The summary, for those not in the know, is that it's a common point of argument in "what is metagaming?" debates. The basic premise is that you, the player, know trolls regenerate unless dealt fire or acid damage. But does your character? So are you allowed to just go straight to fire damage or must your character spend time trying to figure it out?
There's two main camps.
Camp 1: You can't go straight to fire and acid. How would you character know that? Using those because you know fire/acid is needed is bad metagaming. You should roleplay figuring it out.
Camp 2: The "am I allowed to finally do the things I know I need to do?" mini-game isn't fun. Even in the real world we know werewolves have a weakness to silver. Going straight to acid/fire is fine. It's not a bad form of metagaming.
Personally I fall into Camp 2. I feel like doing a "I waste my turn!" action is not fun. Sure, don't go looking it up in the middle of combat. But it's fine to use pre-knowledge.

Interesting, gets some inspiration going. Any ideas on what you like as a witch statblock? (I'm not comfortable with heavy homebrew, so primarily sticking with pre-existing blocks.) Preferably using one from this list.
Haiiiiii, I’m Druid! (he/they/it/moth/fae/star) I'm a smol insane queer lil' mess with a terrible mental state! I'm also a therian and furry :3 My current obsessions are The Amazing Digital Circus and Hazbin Hotel, so if you ever wanna chat about that, I'm always happy to! GIVE ME YOUR MONSTER.

Curious what your stances are.

O sorrow, I have ended, you see, by respecting you, because I am certain you will never leave me.
Ah! I realize it: your beauty lies in the force of your being. You are like those who never left the sad fireside corner of my poor black heart.
O my sorrow, you are better than a well-beloved: because I know that on the day of my final agony, you will be there, lying in my sheets, O sorrow, so that you might once again attempt to enter my heart.

Honesty is the best policy.
Got a monster in mind that ties to that?
First inspiration was "There are some neat giant statblocks." Followed with "And Puppeteer Parasites are kinda kool too."
What? You ask for a theme and now we have to do the work of explaining it too? Outrageous.
Hmm, zone of truth? Maybe the players have to take honesty to the furthest possible extent. No stealth, sleight of hand, or deception checks or they receive major penalties if they do. Maybe there is a giant wooden puppet that hunts down liars. The puppet has donkey ears and a wooden nose that grows a few inches in the direction of anyone who tells a lie.
This was just the first idea that popped into my head.

The puppet donkey monster sounds terrifying. Something to keep in mind for when I'm more comfortable homebrewing monsters.

Yeah, that one is a homebrew dependent option.
