Speak for yourself. I personally don’t mind 1 or 2 and the risk of death is kinda high exciting to me. Sure I prefer level 3, but I love it all the same. To each their own
But the risk of death is just RNG. So you have like very little agency in your death. One lucky roll from a single goblin and you’re dead. That’s just bad game design. Risk of death in a thrilling fight for your life is different when you can actually strategize and stuff.

My name’s Gradius, this is my second account :P I love Hollow Knight and I have been on ddb for a while. Come rp with me anytime! It is my purpose. My title that was given to me by Drummer is…SPIRIT OF THE WEST, GUARDIAN OF THE HOLLOWS.
No cost too great. No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering. Born of God and Void.
I'm just leaving D&D kinda, at least my main group is switching systems and I want to try some others
Real. I do like 5e tho
You could think of D&D like star wars, Its a bit rough sometimes but still good until it started making mistakes on the newer stuff
Definitely. Dnd is still fun, they’re just… making rise of skywalker content for it
Exactly. The force awakens was like... The books just after Tashas that were alright but not amazing. Since then its gone more and more just... Questionable

I'm also so sad star wars is turning into Marvel, theres so much content and they release like a show a week. I feel like i just finished Bad Batch never got to the tales of the empire and now theres The Acoylte. Like, slow your roll. Its definitely getting dragged out, i think star wars content should either go to a release every one or two years (or not super often) or just stop making content entirely.

It’s not liking things, this isn’t a personal issue. It’s a gameplay design issue. DND shouldn’t be like a souls game. Especially at a baseline. New people will always start at level 1 because it’s the default. And then they have to slog through two levels of gritty gameplay, which is… likely what most people will not enjoy. That’s why souls games have more niche player bases.

Now,if y'all could choose the abilities of any race irl what would it be?
For me it'd be kenku minus the no creativity thing beacuase I could do so much with that awesome memory and those voice acting skills
I would say elf cause (gp) sleep, but the long age is a problem cause then everyone around me would eventually die. And fey ancestry isn't too useful irl, either. So I'll just go with the flow and say changeling.

I know you're talking about a specific class, but normally 1 - 5 are my favorite levels of the game. Campaigns really shouldn't ever go much past level 10 normally imo

I think there should be the option to though. It shouldn’t cap at 10. Most published campaigns only go up that high anyway.

I get it a problem for some, but what’s your solution? If they get subclasses at level one, they have much more options than everyone else. If you get it at the start, some people will feel that it’s unearned. There’s no real way to please everyone. Some people like having to go through a struggle. And it is a personal issue because you personally don’t like the way it is designed. Some people will agree with you, others won’t. Either way it’s still a personal opinion

Well in general, there’s a lot of issues with class differences in terms of power level. As a spellcaster, you’ll always have more options than a martial at any level. I’m also not a giant corporation with a team working on this. But what I would do first would be probably add more health or something? Anything to not make you die in one shot. I think fixing martial caster divide would also be a good first step. So giving martials more option than just swinging. And while there’s no way to please everyone, you can put in the tools people can use to make their games better and make new players have an easier time, right? Isn’t that the point of DND? It’s supposed to be the mainstream accessible TTRPG.
And even if it’s my opinion, I’m proposing for it to be more accessible to different playstyles, while you’re proposing to restrict it to dark souls gameplay. DND should be more generalized with individual games narrowing down and adapting. It’s harder to take gritty base gameplay and make is accessible than to take easier 1-2 levels and make them more difficult.
