100+ degree weather? Not that big a deal. (Of course, this is comin' from an Oklahoman who's used to temperatures that high in summer, and temperatures below freezing in winter.)
100+ degree weather, that’s baby work. I could do that easy. *Then again that’s coming from someone who’s lived in Texas all their life.*
Yeah, I am in Texas. I have lived most of my memorable life in upstate New York. Not in the city which is where most people think when I say New York. No, it was a house in the woods an hour away from lake Ontario. Where we lived we often were buried in our house by 8ft of snow 6 months of the year. The month before and after ranged from snow banks as high as 5ft to as low as 2 ft. The remaining 4 months were a mudy spring and beautiful fall. Summer really never existed. For me, 40 degrees was nice and 60 was to hot. 20 and below was too cold. Now I have steeled a tiny bit (lol) and 80+ is to got while 60 is just right. 40and lower is to low now lol. When the weather is 100+ degrees, I am in shock cause I never in my whole life till I moved to Texas had I experienced anything over 90. I only experienced a temperature over 80 once lol. (Yeah so I am a baby lol). I am in a spot where I rather just stay inside and D&D lol.
100+ isn't really that hot when you're used to it. And I've actually walked outside barefoot in like -20° weather and not gotten cold, so yeah, it's the same way with the heat. If you're used to it, it ain't that bad.
Yeah I know what you mean. The coldest I have experienced was -60 degrees, cold.enough that 10 minutes of exposed skin can give you minor frostbite. My favorite thing about it was throwing water in a bucket up into the air and it falling as ice lol. It was awesome lol.
That and the 8ft snow banks were made of a layering of snow then freezing rain, snow the freezing rain, and the banks were perfect to make tunnels all over the property. We made colonies like ants and played nerf wars. We (me and my siblings) were young then, 10 and younger lol.
-60?! Damn. It gets nowhere NEAR that cold here. I think -30 or 40 was the lowest we've gotten within the last few years. And 8 foot snow banks sound fun... I don't usually get to play in snow, mostly because most parts of Oklahoma don't really get much, if they get any at all.
About the bucket of water thing, I've done that before. It wad boiling water though, and instead of it turning into ice it turned into steam midair.

Hi there! My name's Elk. I'm NoiSilverheart's doppelgänger. I'm a demi/grayromantic, socially awkward Okie who may or may not be a pyromaniac. *random confetti blast*
I'm a warlock of the Archcrone, and my patron is TheFriendlyArchfey. I was nicknamed AchatesCervus8337 by VitusW and given the titles "Swashbuckling Scorcher", "The Unpredictable Jedi", "Burning Fury of the Ancients", and "Combustion Knight" by DrummerBoyDragonSlayer.
The feather, and the ink at its tip, glow slightly. The withered face of the old crone holding the paper is illuminated, shifting between hundreds of different forms, of the witch with a thousand faces, the Archcrone, mightiest Archfey of DDB. Do you sign?
I hesitate...my quill quivering now as I see your true self, or rather all of them... and wonder if you are any different from the MadGibber...
I ask... "What happens when I sign, what are the means of this contract?"
PS I gtg, so, I will come back to this lol
“You shall become a mighty warlock! In exchange for three favors I can use at any time later, in which no creature will be harmed and in which you will not be forced to commit any acts of evil… this is not my true form, simply all of them at once… if you saw my true form you’d see the old crone you just saw, but you would have likely died from terror. I have dozens of avatars… I am watching always. Don’t you want the power?”
...what is this power I will gain, what can I do with it, great Archcrone?" As I finish speaking, I cast a glance at the MadGibber, a look of pity on may face as I am torn between the two. I wistfully hope the Gibber can give me a contract to debate over. Lol
So, Archfey, about this situation...is MadGibber on lol
I turn to my desk, and I grab a wooden bowl full of water. I place a few pieces of bread inside of the water, they float to the top.
”imagine this is the world… you would have the ability to sink islands…” the old crone pushes piece to the bottom of the bowl.
”cause mass disaster…” she shakes the bowl, causing it to splash around.
”whatever else your heart desires… make it rain ash, summon winter? Blot out the sun over a city? Bless a farm with bounty? Protect a forest from all the fires? Anything… and everything.”
she grins a witch’s grin and cackles, the contract floating above her open palm.
I am still hesitant, I don't know if should have this power, I don't trust myself to use it wisely, and are you sure their is no fine print I should be notified of?
“Please! I am a fey, I don’t work with those silly over complicated devil writings, you confuse the fey with infernal creatures… our contracts are both magically binding, but ours are simply more powerful, we don’t need any silly extra clauses or such… and if you don’t believe you can use it wisely, I could grant you… less power… perhaps smaller scale miracles instead? Healing the sick, summoning plagues of locusts, the like?”
Also, I am back!!! For now, I was walking around in a huge museum garden for the last 4 hours in the 100+ degree weather! My family is insane lol

My humanity comes out in the form of barely noticeable selfish ambition and greed as I say "Oh no no, it's fine, I can deal with great power..." I try not to think about anything as I quickly...swiftly...sign...the contract.

Occasionally. But even then, it's only like 1 or 2 inches of that useless powder stuff you can't do literally anything with.

Yes! It is so beautiful. The way the moon glows of the snow is so bright and sparkly you can actually be blinded like looking strait at the sun!!! It is so beautiful, but I struggle in the cold, my body runs cold, and I am super skinny lol, that makes it really hard to warm up. I use to wear like a layer of thermals and then 4 layers of clothes to keep warm. -60 was like a deep winter, one time a year thing so not often. -30 -40 was mostly what I experienced as well.

I think I’ve seen hail once in my whole life, and I was like 8 when it happened. I’ve never seen snow, here in Florida or any other place I’ve visited. I have seen what true autumn is once though, up in Tennessee, I got to visit family who lived in a beautiful neighborhood with old oak trees lining the streets that were in full display of their fall colors. It was magical.

“Where do they come from? The dust. Where do they go? The grave. Does blood stir their veins? No: the night wind. What ticks in their head? The worm. What speaks from their mouth? The toad. What sees from their eye? The snake. What hears with their ear? The abyss between the stars... They frenzy forth. In gusts they beetle-scurry, creep, thread, filter, motion, make all moons sullen, and surely cloud all clear-run waters. The spider-web hears them, trembles—breaks. Such are the autumn people. Beware of them.”
Autumn is falling upon us. It’ll be here soon, along with a new tavern. Come to the Autumn Country, rot and dance and harvest and feast in the land of the Autumn Court. In this realm, Decay and Abundance step through yielding fields and wilting forests hand in hand.

Be wary, be merry, be scary, be scared,
Stand steady, get ready, you won’t be prepared.
Woohoo! Spooky autumn tavern for the win! If you need any help at all, because this seems remotely fey like, I would be happy to help.
I remember I had to walk up a hill to a neighbor to help them with shoveling them out of their house. A blizzard hit us and we were blinded, tears were flowing from our eyes and freezing lol. We had to keep our mouths closed or the insides of my mouth would freeze lol.
Alright, I also want to clarify something. We lived in the 8 foot high banks only on Tug hill, where my grandparents used to live. We lived their for 5 years, and I was only 10 when we left there. But then we lived about 30 minutes from there for the rest of the time we were in New York lol. There the banks only got 5-6ft tall.
Tug hill, had a weird weather phenomenon the locals called the Tug Dump. Essentially, weather would pass by Tug Hill and get "stuck" their. It would then dump snow on us for hours and hours, that is how we got such high snow banks! Highest we ever gotta I remember was 10ft! Lol.

I have made a huge homebrew setting that I am still working on putting here in DDB. Please give me feedback, I want to know all of what I am doing wrong, and what I am doing right. The thread is a huge work in progress, so everything in it from content to layout is subject to change. Please check this forum:Welcome to Zionderia
Also I have a fun thread that explores an idea about dreams based off the movie Inception. I still need to add the link but stay tuned.

Pretty much lol. I kind of like this thread as it is where I met my first friends here! Lol.
Namely: Archfey, MadGibber, Bananer, bls, Coronet, Jobah, Himynamesare, and Cold Atlas. If I missed someone, I will add them to this list. Thank you all for your hospitality and I hope to repay the kindness you have all shown me! 😊

Nah, you all aren't insane! (Either that or I am just as insane and can't tell lol) I have come to enjoy you all quite a lot...I honestly wish we could meet in real life and meet in person.)
Oh and Coronet, I am praying for you, your life, and your friend. I will do what I can to support you from somewhere else in Texas lol.

…you guys get snow?
My humanity comes out in the form of barely noticeable selfish ambition and greed as I say "Oh no no, it's fine, I can deal with great power..." I try not to think about anything as I quickly...swiftly...sign...the contract.
BUM BA BUMMMMM!!!!

You’d be luck to get to 39 F here in the winter, let alone anything below freezing.

Occasionally. But even then, it's only like 1 or 2 inches of that useless powder stuff you can't do literally anything with.

”pleasure doing business with you… use your gifts wisely, or I’ll be having a wonderful time watching the bloodbath you create… toodle-oo!” And she takes her broom, her pestle, and her mortar, hops in the giant stone mortar, and flies into the night, the broom sweeping away her tracks.
you get 20 levels in Archfey warlock! Ignoring the 20 level limit to characters if you already had any levels.
I think the coldest I’ve experienced where I live is about 45 in the dead of winter, and that was all on the news and stuff. It’s never snowed here, but it’s hailed about three times in my life. Light hail.
