Yo, I'm Himy (He/him) not as active as I use to be, but I'm here from time to time. I don't got much else to say.
"From the stars of the inner sea, from the tower of insight, from the four corners of paradise, let them know; their story is filled with blessings. Only those free of sin may pass... Garden of Avalon!”
”The elements coalesce, amalgamate, and bring forth the star that interweaves all creation. Bow down with death! Enuma Elish!”
No beans rules out a lot of foods- the main one being Chili
Okay but actually eating Oatmeal makes me feel like I’m some troubled soldier on rations.
Yeah, I actually hate Chili. Never saw the point of it when you could have jambalaya.
Oatmeal's pretty good. I love me some breakfast soup. Or breakfast in general. Nothing mushy there.
Isn’t oatmeal’s entire thing being mushy?
It's primarily solid/has solid pieces in it, and that helps "ground me" in a way. Also, I put minimal milk into mine, so it usually comes out a little bit more solidified.
Not like Jello. Blech.
Ain’t it also slimy?
Jello or oatmeal? Jello? Yes (Hence why I dislike it). Oatmeal? Not really. I guess if you put too much milk in, it can be...
I don’t think it’s that I’m putting too much in. I think it’s that you put in so little that the normal amount seems like a lot. Now jello on the other hand, unless you’re smashing it, normally it’s pretty smooth, as well as quite solid
...You're not supposed to mix it up?
That explains a lot.
But... the slimy feeling! In your mouth! GAHGhagshhgagsghghgahgaghgahg
It's like nails on a chalkboard for me. *Shudders*

I hate the idea of humans expanding conquest into outer space, one day will science fiction be true? And what right do we have to attempt to take over a galaxy, maybe having some small things setup on the moon for scientists but I really hate the moon colonies people talk about

Why moon colonies? I could understand like planets already controlled with intelligent life, but no one lives on the moon. The will for expansion is an instinct all creatures have, so why not feed into it?

That’s such a bad statement. One, empires expanding caused like 5 billion wars and a genocide or two.
Specifically in space, if Aliens exist, they are probably more technologically advanced, and will almost definitely squash us. Even if they don’t, we’ll probably be like an animal to them, the same way we feel some sympathy for animals we also eat them, do scientific experiments on them, and lock them up. And yes I know it’s not super likely aliens exist but if we got lucky in the statistics of existence maybe some of them did

Well that less comes from the will to expand itself and rather the greed and jealousy that soon follows after.

Most expanding on a large scale (Empires, all fo the human race, etc) is very close to just being greed

Usually they expand because of greed, so it comes first. Especially when taking about Empires

I said specifically on planets not already claimed by intelligent life, so that's a big thing you missed. Say we land on a jungle planet. Nothing but us and semi-intelligent life (Think animals on earth) would we truly be wrong to set up there? If we do it correctly an minimize invasive species introductions, that's frankly a good thing. Plus. By then we'd likely have overpopulation issues, and is it worth it sacrifice our wellbeing for a few animals. And also, why do people always assume that aliens will be more technologically advanced? The only thing backing up that is science fiction

Because generally the Aliens find us first in most science fiction, not us finding the Aliens. And since we’re not technologically advanced to get very far into space it would make sense that they’re technologically advanced. Plus if they’re rare in the universe they’re probably gonna need to travel pretty far to reach us

And you just proved my point. There is no scientific reason aliens would or should be more technologically advanced. And even then, tech isn't everything. There's tactical intelligence, and most importantly, outside life wouldn't be suited for life on earth. One movie I forgot the name of brought up this point. There are harmful pathogens in the air that we have adapted to, that outside life would have to deal with. The common cold could be absolutely lethal to an alien

Possibly, but that's assuming they are infected by it, which is unlikely. And if they are, some time needs to pass for it to infect serval people, then form a new strain that actually works, unlike them who could catch it simply by breathing our air, which would allow a new strain to form in weeks to maybe a few months instead of months to maybe a year or two
