(I love how this has become the issue and not the raging inferno Jerry is currently manically cackling over!)
Jerry will get out a spoon and start trying to eat the fire.
Which fire - the one Jerry lit, which is burning hotter than expected, or the white flames already burning in the fire pit in the middle of the room, which instead are giving off an intense cold?
Issac wakes up from a coma. He rolls to find out what is generally happening right now. 13
You're stood in a freezing cold, circular room, heavy with frost. In the middle of the room, a fire blazes within a circle of stones, the flames white. Instead of smoke, a freezing fog drifts from it, and it gives off not heat but cold. Ahead of you is a large, steel door with frozen mechanisms across its surface and hinges.
To the left side of the steel door is an open doorway which contains a large metal tank, and several pieces of machinery, all covered in frost and hanging with icicles.
To the right side of the steel door is another open doorway through which you can hear movement, as a frosty conveyor belt endlessly scoops air out of an empty pool and carries it up into the ceiling.
The ceiling itself is a great brass bowl, like a cauldron over the white fire, hung on chains from a great lever that connects in some way to the mechanisms of the door. Icicles hang from it like stalactites, threatening to poke the unwary Jerry, who is taller than people suspected.
Opposite each of the open doorways are open fireplaces, without anything burning in them.
Lining the walls between the two fireplaces are 4 chests, covered in frost. Each of these chests has a symbol on it - Fire, Water, Ice and Air.
Since arriving:
• Crilgor has investigated the room with the machinery in it, to the left of the door, and established that the machinery is connected to the bolt on the door, and that the tanks has some dark paint or something under the ice.
• Crilgors hand has burnt off, in an unrelated string of events involving a sentient rift which deposited Tom Lucitor in our midst
• Jerry has set fire to the contents of the fire chest, which was found to be full of logs. The fire it produced is burning hotter than you would expect from a log fire; it is more like a furnace. Jerry is now deciding whether he wants to try and eat the hot fire he made or the cold fire in the fire pit in the middle of the room.
I want to go investigate the rooms to the right and left of the door.
Roll me an investigation roll please!
Also, what are you investigating in these rooms?
I would like to chip off ice from the machines and tank and I want to try to understand better what they do.
Investigation: 7
Through some investigation and excavation, all whilst holding Tiamat to stop her doing the thing that she was trying to do, you find that the machine on the left is connected through the wall to the large bolt on the door. It looks like they are needed to draw the bolt back and unlock the door. It seems like there is some dark paint under the ice on the tank which could be a rune of some kind, but it's impossible to tell without melting it.
Shortly after you call the rift "no more use than a locked door", the rift disappears with an air of "I don't have to listen to this".
First of all, it was a hand, not an arm. Also, I know her name is Tiamat, but my character doesn't. Hmm... I'll say "Hey Jerry, can you come over and help me melt off some ice?"

“Ok” Jerry will take a burning log from the fire chest and throw it at the area you mentioned.
Jerry takes 1 fire damage as he throws a flaming log under the tank. The ice starts to trickle down, but its progress is slowed by the intense cold coming from the fire in the middle of the room. It takes until the log is almost burnt out before the marks under the ice are revealed as a thick smudge of black soot across the side of the tank. Jerry's intimate knowledge of fire tells you that the scorch marks indicate that the flames which have marked this before were incredibly hot, and were not lit underneath the tank but instead seem to have been blown onto the side of it.
The heat from the flames has also cleared some of the ice from the mechanism directly above it, but as the fire dies out, the intense cold from the central fire is already starting to freeze it, locking the mechanism back up in its prison of ice.
Behind you, the stone lid of the fire chest shuts over the now softly glowing embers of the fire with a thud. The fire in the middle of the room, however, is still burning
Can I try to take a non-burning end of a log in Jerry's bonfire and throw the log into the cold fire?
