Hello, GM/player coming back to 5E after a long hiatus. I'd like to run a module called White Plume Mountain (modified for D&D 5th Edition) to get back into practice with the game. The module's designed for 4-10 players, so there's plenty of room. Its intended for 5th level adventurers. It will be an action oriented, hack n' slash dungeon crawl. Please plan to post at least a couple times a day.
Module intro: An eccentric wizard called Keraptis stole three powerful weapons from their respective collectors in the city of Greyhawk. After receiving a cryptic note, presumably left by the wizard, the collectors deduced that the weapons were taken to White Plume Mountain, in the wilderness outside the city. The weapons' owners are assembling a team to return the stolen property to them. In return, they promise to grant them whatever they desire, if in their power to do so.

Hey there! I'm definitely interested in this. Are there any limits on what source material you'll allow for characters? Are we just to use standard array or point buy?
Thanks for everyone's interest :D I'm pretty open to source material for characters, just let me know what you want to do and I'll take a look at it. Standard array or point buy is fine.

Backstory: Kevash is a mystic from a secluded clan of dragonborn deep in the swamplands. He has been raised from birth to practice natural magics, and is set to become a fully realized shaman for his people. However, before his training is complete, his master is sending Kevash out into the world so that he may know it better. He must seek out experience and worldly knowledge. It is only after this that he may be recognized as a shaman to guide his people.
As part of his trial, Kevash was meant to hunt a totem animal. Kevash chose the giant alligator. It was from this hunt hat he claimed his heavy hide robes, tooth necklace, and scimitar. The scimitar is his prized possession, formed from the jawbone of a Giant Alligator with a hilt wrapped in its own scaled hide.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hi @Ridgeview, welcome back to D&D! If you'll have me, I'd be happy to participate and help you get back into the groove of the system. I can't say I have much experience with 5E myself, so this'll be a good chance for me to brush up too. I plan on playing a Bardbearian named Boresh. Here's his sheet, and I'll type out a summary of this below:
Name: Boresh, Race: Half-orc, Class(es): Barbarian (1) / Bard (4) - College of Lore, Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Backstory:Boresh, orphaned as a babe, was raised on the deck of a pirate ship - the Baleful Boar - where his adoptive mother was the sea and his collective father the crew. Despite the circumstances of his birth and the disposition of his family, the little half-orc grew to favor song over sword. His crewmates encouraged this talent, and between rounds of raiding merchants and weathering storms, the Baleful Boar's atmosphere was lifted by the shanties improvised by young Boresh the Bard.
Violence would nevertheless be a part of his wonder years, however. Aside from partaking in the occasional pillage, Boresh quickly learned that a life at sea would not be a long one unless he trained to defend himself. Never did this realization ring more true than on the night the Baleful Boar fell, when a rival band of corsairs took Boresh's motley crew by surprise.
As the lone survivor of his ship, Boresh - twice orphaned - survived by drifting on the wreckage of the Boar for days before washing ashore, fueled only by the promise he swore to himself: to seek revenge against those who destroyed his family.
Lastly, one of my starting equipment requires rolling a d100 to determine what I get from the random trinket table, so I'll do that now:
I'd like to throw my name (or my character's at least) into the hat as well. Initial info below, more to follow once I can get the Excel sheet modified for lvl 5 and converted to a DDB-friendly arrangement:
Shariel, Lvl 5 Mystic (Nomad), Female High Elf, CN/NE (she's VERY flexible on the definition of "morality"). Background: Entertainer (Gladiator)
Backstory: Very little is known about Shariel save that she was an orphan sold to slavery. Somehow, she excelled in fighting pits and earned a reputation for turning a blood pit into an actor's stage. Across the sands, she weaved through her opponents in a visceral dance using only a bow or handful of javelins. Her turning point came when she was in the heat of combat and filled to bursting with ecstasy. The elation clouded her senses and she mistepped, allowing a opponent to sweep her legs and pin her.
With a blade falling, time seemed to slow to a crawl and the anxiety of impending doom was electric. Fear and excitement boiled over and the young elf twisted as the world blurred. In a flash, she stood twenty feet away from her assailant, standing unscathed and watching as the dumbfounded combatant was pulling his knife from the sand. Word spread quickly about the slave that walked with the wind and struck like a storm. Despite her obvious gift for evasion, Shariel stayed willingly in service to the arena. Combat made her feel alive and her gift pushed her senses into a frenzy.
During a quiet night of a new moon, a commotion arose. Being one of the few dedicated gladiators allowed a weapon to own, she sprang from her cot, bow in-gand, and investigated. An uprising was underway and the slaver estate was in chaos. A mania took over and Shariel walked among the carnage, firing arrow after arrow at anything moving. Slaves or slavers, everyone here was a criminal or murderer in a fashion. Who would care if they died? When night fell quiet again, Shariel sat on a roof staring at the pit of a moon. She had heard prayers in the past to various deities, but one seems especially fitting now:
"I have you as you have me, for the two of us shall always be. Ever fleeing, always wanting, Shar I call now you to me. A child sits in lonely night, hounded by this worldly blight. See me here and take me there, for to chase the moon is a lethal dare." The slave gathered what she could carry and set about with a new name modeled after her new love and patron.

Characters:
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
Boresh would make a good addition. I like Shariel too. With those character sheets that should bring us to 4. Would like to start things soon after that, but if you're still working on a character let me know.

No joke, I was heavily debating rolling Gladiator for my character, Boresh, too. If you're thinking of giving Shariel a tag-team partner in the pits (he can be her foil, the gregarious showman to her aloof mysticism, two opposites sharing an unlikely friendship in the arena), I'd be cool with reworking Boresh's background and backstory. Of course if you're happy with your own as it is, I'm looking forward to seeing her in play!
I would love to give it a try I have a lvl 5 Dark elf Rogue. Pretty new but seems like it would be fun thought I don't know anything about the background. will post character in a minute

I am also interested.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm up for it.

Kevash Character Sheet
Sounds good so far. Is there a complete character sheet I could look at?

Yeah definitely. I've just gotta pull it off here and I'll throw up a link.
Updated my entry with my character sheet!
I don't mind trying this out. When do you want the information by? I'm a bit busy right now, but I'm all for trying something different!

Will edit this line with the result. It's "A glass jar containing a weird bit of flesh floating in pickling fluid." How strange!
Hope to play soon!
Thanks for your interest. If you could submit a character sheet within the next couple of days that would be great.
So we've got a druid and a warlock/cleric so far. Anyone up to play a tank or rogue?
