All the group is in Baldur's Gate on the Sword Coast and Western Heartlands border. It is a metropolis and city-state located south of Waterdeep, and north to the country of Amn. Baldur's Gate is also known for its significance as a big merchant city, and the plenty of ports that made this place so wealthy in the first place.
For the past several days, the talk of the streets and taverns has all been about the so-called death curse: a wasting disease afflicting everyone who’s ever been raised from the dead. Victims grow thinner and weaker each day, slowly but steadily sliding toward the death they once denied. When they finally succumb, they can’t be raised — and neither can anyone else, regardless of whether they’ve ever received that miracle in the past. Temples and scholars of divine magic are at a loss to explain a curse that has affected the entire region, and possibly the entire world.
Grungle hears of the death curse from others in the temple. He feels this is a good chance to raise himself and bring honor to his clan. This is a good opportunity to help others and bring more light to this dark world. Grungle makes his way over to Spider, “Did you hear about this death curse? I heard some of the others talking about it” he pauses for a response. “I’m going to investigate this curse but I think it would be wise to have help, what do you say? Join me? He feels up beat and ready to go. ‘Finally, something that might actually do some good’ he thinks to himself.

Spider finishes lacing his boots up. He’s outfitted with some ragged leather pants and tall leather boots, no shirt to be seen. He’s bald with a pointed multi colored beard (browns and reds and black). He has a loan tattoo on the back of his head. It’s a intracate spiders web.
“Welp, I did just send back a good bit of coin to the folks. I suppose I got some time for some altruistic activities. But had it been any one but you, partner, it’d have been a big hell no.” Spider chuckles. “Besides, where there’s unity... victory isn’t far behind, brother.” He holds out his arm for a shake as he throws his pack over his other shoulder. “Let’s do some good”

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
In between performances, Song Goldgage hears whispers about some sort of curse terrorizing the region around Baldur's Gate. Something about those who've received the gift of life twice losing that gift slowly and painfully. That sounds... quite dreadful. The heroes of old sometimes spent time in the afterlife before an ally brought them back. It gives a good kick in the beginning of the third act. The return of the hero. Beyond just the needless suffering of those who've clung to this realm, that would bring a great end to those stories. And finding the source of this curse would bring glory to his name. And please whatever shining entity gave him his powers.
After his last performance of the day, Song bows to his applauding audience and places his lyre on his back. His stature is a bit short and skinny, and his features were more pretty than handsome, with golden blonde hair and naturally tanned skin and golden eyes. He was completely fine with that, as it could turn the head of any man or woman. His clothes are on the verge of bawdy bardic clothes, but are slightly more subdued than many other bards he's seen.
Getting to the temple, he spots Grungle and Spider in a discussion of said curse. Spider then asks him whether he'd like to join in an attempt to rid the world of the curse. Apparently without taking breaths between words...
"Well, you beat me to asking you then! I'd love to join in on this endeavor! A good chance to do some good. This curse seems... wrong to me. The gods, in their wisdom, has allowed a scant few of us to cling again to this world. Having that taken away again... it's not right." Song shakes his head. "I haven't heard much just yet, but if we scout around more learnèd and noble areas, perhaps we'll find some more substantial rumors."

Cederick is deep in prayer and meditation when he receives a message from Helm himself. “Cederick, my faithful warrior, the world is in need of your talents. Gather together a group of warriors and cleanse this world of the wasting death curse. My healing grace to return the faithful who have fallen to life is being stopped. Go with all haste!”
With his eyes popping open Cederick know exactly what to do. Running to his quarters, he quickly does his fighting armor, gathers his weapons, healing kits, and adventuring gear. Heading out of the temple he nearly runs into Spider talking with Song.
“Brothers! It is Helm’s will that I find you here. You must join me in my quest to cleanse the land of this Death Curse. As it is written in the holy tomb... 'when you are most in need, your allies will present themselves.' ” He then looks to the others expectantly.
“Haa, this is great! Blessed by the gods. How can we fail” Grungle blurts out. “So where do we start my friends? Maybe the nearest town for supplies and information?” He says looking to Cederick for guidance.

Tomac- goliath barbarian- Yet Another Storm Kings Thunder
You have been invited to the home of Syndra Silvane, a retired adventurer and merchant. You already had the right directions to get there, and as you soon as you enter the house...
A uniformed attendant leads you up a grand staircase to the third floor, then ushers you into a wood-paneled room with a fireplace, comfortable chairs, and a heavy table bearing goblets and bottles of wine. The darkly paneled walls are hung with maps and sea charts. Racks, shelves, and cabinets hold hundreds more rolled-up maps and charts.
A person is seated in an overstuffed chair near the fire. You can’t discern a gender, because only the person’s head emerges from under a heavy blanket draped over the chair, and an embroidered hood and silver mask conceal the wearer’s face. Even the person’s dry, raspy voice provides no clue. “Help yourselves to wine, and seat yourselves, friends — I hope I may call you that.”
Cederick strides into the room, looking about to see who else migth be there. When the voice invies them to drink and calls them friends, Cederick breaks out with a wide grin. "Just as is written in the ancient tomb, 'When a friend invites one to imbibe, drink well and enjoy their company'". He raises a glass to their host. "Of course, it also states 'be wary of the gift of a stranger'. I choose to believe we are friends."He takes a swig of the wine, licks his lips, and lets out a satisfying "Aaahhhh."
The silver masked person... feels like someone with information to be considered, but not immediately trusted. When offered wine, Song lightly declines. "It has been an unfortunate truth that strong drink affects me both fast and hard. If I'm to remember everything to transpire here, I'd prefer water. I hope I'm causing no offense. I too, hope we can be friends." Song sits casually on his chair, keeping an alert ear on the person's words.
You hear a small laugh coming from this hooded figure as you get this feeling that they're smiling. They start speaking and despite their voice sounding like it's cracking, it also sounds like whoever is hidden there is happy. "Great, nice to hear you're all happy to help, because that's why I called you. If you're wondering what's the problem, I think you might already have an idea..." There is a pause as you hear a loud cough coming from them. "So, I am Syndra Silvane... I was an adventurer years ago. I died once and was raised from the dead. I have since closed the door on that stage of my life. The death curse you've heard about... It struck me. I don’t know how much longer I’ll last before I perish. Clerics have no help to offer. They’re stymied by what is happening."Syndra Silvane looks down, trying to hide her face even more, while at the same time showing how weak she has become.
Cederick looks at Syndra with great concern. "I have been instructed by Helm himself to rids the world from this curse. You have my sympathy for your current condition, and my help. What iad can you lend on where to begin our investigation?" He looks to her expectantly.
Song looks down at his glass of water. Before him is someone who is suffering that he can do nothing about. He does have a bit of healing magics, but not even powerful clerics have been able to do anything to heal the cursed. He grips his glass a bit tighter. "I'm... sorry as well. I would like to find out as well about how we rid the world of this curse. If we are even able. Do you know of anything, anything at all, that could help us in this search. I can only pray we fix this before..." Song trails off and looks at his glass again.
Spider leans forward in his chair, "Yeah, so not to be soundin' rude or nothin' but how is it you're going to expect us to uh, find a cure or whatever? You seem like you have a fair bit of coin, enough for the best clerics... how are we going to help?"
