Welcome to Theros. The land of mystical creatures, heroic quests, powerful gods, and many possible adventures.
You are in Meletis, the bustling city-state mainly populated by humans, but filled with the occasional Satyr, Centaur, Minotaur, and the very rare Leonin. The streets are filled with many peoples, walking on the smooth stone paths, past the limestone buildings besides these paths. The people are dressed in all manner of clothes, the humans in white togas, dresses, or colorful robes. The satyrs rarely wear clothes except one strap of fabric, normally brown or green, for the females across their chest. Centaurs wear similar garb, but normally in darker shades, of black, dark gray, or dirt brown. You see one leonin passing by, she is wearing a colorful garb, with orange and purples woven into the tan pride-skin.
The streets are filled, not because the people have anywhere in particular to go, but because it is a warm day, and they have nothing much to do. Wandering about the city and seeing the brilliant architecture is a matter of recreation in the Meletian culture. Many people flock together to peer through the stain-glassed windows of the temples, or look into the forge to see what invention the minotaur blacksmith has created this day, or to hear the speech of a practicing philosopher in the plaza.
A light blue-skinned merfolk wearing a dark blue robe, with a smattering of seashells and other oceanic curios in his hair, sits listening to the philosophers speech, a wooden staff lying beside him.
A dark-haired, tanned human wanders down the street, mouth agape as he tries to take in the sights about him. Growing up on a farm, he had never to been to the city. As he wanders, he is drawn towards the flock of people looking at an invention of some minotaur's invention.
A tall thin human man wearing a white toga. He has a walking stick with a crystal wrapped around the top of it. He is currently looking in his book. Over his face he wears a black cloth bag as a mask, with a white skull painted over it.
Though the streets were crowded, one figure loomed over most of the people and made his way fairly easily through the crowd. Not because he was being pushy, simply because especially figures who were nearly two feet shorter than the seven foot tall pillar of black furred muscle that was Timistimachi did not wish to stand in his way. Wearing a pair of brown pants and a white shirt, shirt tucked into his belt the Minotaur stood tall and proud, nodding and smiling to any who greeted him as well as apologizing if he bumped into anyone despite his intimidating appearance and carefully cared for sharp horns. Hanging off his right shoulder was a Maul, appearing to be all but a solid cinder block with a metal pole affixed to it's center. Though more notably in a sheath on his back the handle of a beautifully crafted lance peeked out, a handiwork of the very blacksmith he was coming to greet and possibly speak with. The hand guard of the lance had been fashioned to shape the constellation of Iroas within the night sky, a happy smile on the huge man's face as he watched his old acquaintance crafting to the delight of the passing crowd. The Minotaur came to a rest standing behind a dark haired man, casting a shadow over him as he looked on.
(A set up for potential interaction if you want @SpieltJoos)
In awe, Turo looks up at the towering minotaur beside him. Unsure if he is friendly or not, having little interactions with this kind in the past, he tentatively greets his towering neighbour. "Uh... Hel... Hello friend?" He points to the wonder before them, "Do... do you know this master craftsman?"
(All good, was only Yesterday, just figured until Levi develops stuff further and being on the outskirts of the crowd it would make sense to strike up a conversation ;P)
The Minotaur glanced down at the source of the voice, a large smile appearing on his face as he nods and replies in a deep, happy voice. "Indeed I do! He made my Lance! And I bought my maul from him!" Turning to show off the large weapons on his form, a huge smile on his previously intimidating face "Do you know him, or simply wish to marvel? OH!" Rubbing the back of his head he clears his throat "And what is your name friend!?"
(also getting dibs on bold red for his speech text xD)
"Oh no, I don't know the master craftsman... er, minotaur," Turo replies, "I'm new to the city, and happened to see this spectacle. My name is Turo, by the way."
"A pleasure to meet you Turo! There are some who call me...." the large man seems to pause for a moment as though deciding something before saying "Tim."
(Sorry, probably should have said this before, but I don't normally come on D&D Beyond on Sundays. If I'm quiet during those days, you can continue roleplaying, and so on.)
As you admire the recent invention of Archemae, the minotaur blacksmith, which is a handheld spiral drill made of glittering bronze metal powered by a hand crank at the top, people continue moving down the street. Archemae through the window is demonstrating with a pot of soil how this drill works.
You hear call out in the background, a trumpet, and voice yelling "Races in 5 minutes!"

"Timistimachi. That's my name....but most just call me Tim." Hearing the call, an eager grin spread across the Minotaur's face, taking off in that direction as though he had completely forgot he was in the middle of a conversation. Over his shoulder he yells. "Much as I wish to speak to my friend there....competition!!!! Want to come?"
You follow the others, and see up the stone boulevard, a large field ahead of you. You are about 120 feet away, and you see a centaur with a trumpet at his side holding a blue-red banner in one hand. Behind him is a dirt field, lined with banners hanging from a rope in a rectangular field, with the rope tied to stakes at the corners of the field. The field has a circular rectangular that runs all the way through the course, the field curving all the way back on itself to its start. At the opposite end of the field, readying to start the race, are 4 figures. The first is a female centaur, wearing yellow clothes. The second form is a green-clothed human mounted on a white horse. The third form is a bull, wearing red scale armor, and mounted by a male minotaur wearing red and orange colors. The final form is a male satyr, wearing no clothes, but his chest and face are covered in blue and green painted stripes. All the forms are readying to race around the track.
Behind the track is a small stand, run by a female human wearing a blue toga. She sits behind the counter, accepting coins and placing them in arranged piles.
The male centaur with the trumpet shouts, "Contestants are ready! Feel free to bid on the winner at the stand in the back. Four minutes until the race begins!"

Hearing the call, Yanna follows everyone else heading that way. Upon seeing the contestants, she rushes to the betting stand, wanting to join in on the fun. "I'll put 3 gold on the saytr,"she says to the person taking bets.

"Uh... Tim? What are these races they're calling out about?" Turo looks around the crowd upon hearing the call for the next race.

Turo follows Tim through the crowd, finding it somewhat easy due to the minotaur's stature over the many.
Glyn sees the minotaur running and decides that he needs to follow.
