Could a Cleric use; Shield of Faith, on themselves, while wearing heavy armour and a carrying a shield, to boost their AC from 18 to 20? I think that an 18 AC would be enough for random encounters, and then during big battles; or desperate situations, they could make their AC 20 using Shield of Faith.
Would this work out?

Yes, that spell does add to the character's AC for its duration.
