No rules on this that I can find so we poll the forum. Conjuration wizard 2 for minor conjuration ability, lets say you use your action to conjure a banana cream pie (just go with it for the sake of argument, yes it has a cherry on top, no it does not count as more than one object.)
3 levels in rogue, thief subclass, fast hands ability lets you use an item as a bonus action.
Can you put the pie in someones face? Does this cause the blinded condition? At least inflict disadvantage? Can they still AoO when you run away? Does it use their action and a free hand to remove blinded/disadvantage? Does it look cool if you do it while dressed as a jester and reciting limericks? “I made a good pie for you to taste.
Throwing an object at somebody is treated as a ranged weapon attack with an improvised melee weapon. (See the link for more info on that). You would make the attack with an action, not a bonus action, because it would not be the Use an Object action.
As for whether it causes the blinded condition, that would be up to your DM. They might impose disadvantage on the attack since you're aiming for a specific part of the opponent's body. If the enemy is blinded, then they cannot take an attack of opportunity, which requires sight. Again, it would be up to the DM to determine how to remove the pie filling. It would likely be an action.

Carric Aquissar, elven wannabe artist in his deconstructionist period (Archfey warlock) Lan Kidogo, mapach archaeologist and treasure hunter (Knowledge cleric) Mardan Ferres, elven private investigator obsessed with that one unsolved murder (Assassin rogue) Xhekhetiel, halfling survivor of a Betrayer Gods cult (Runechild sorcerer/fighter)
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/basic-rules/combat#UseanObject as I read it, since you are not attempting to do damage it counts as using an object that would require your action, not an attack action, thief skill fast hands lets you do that as a bonus action. Only works if you consider it same as handing an object to someone but you hand it to their face.
You are probably correct Sillvva, cleverly rewording the action does not change that they wouldn’t willingly want a pie in the face any more than a hammer to the head.
AntonSirius, I like the homebrew race, I was considering changeling so he could morph into a killer clown joker type when angered, kind of split personality.

Nice - if you're open to multiclassing, you could also look at something like an Undead warlock for Form of Dread as your killer clown transformation

I'd count that as use an object, but ultimately to me this just sounds like flavoring for the Help action. The initial splat from the pie is too easily wiped free from the eyes to fully treat the enemy as blind. But this is a perfectly reasonable way to distract the opponent to give someone else advantage on an attack against them. If that doesn't quite work for you I think I could also allow this to give the pie-ee disadvantage on their next attack, but that's about it.
Although you could change my mind on this, since it's a conjured object anyway, just summoning it with a bunch of glue that happens to look like banana cream. Then I'd let that inflict the blinded condition on a creature.
I wish the conjuration ability was more clearly defined, I like the advantage/disadvantage suggestion, that sounds way more plausible, thanks TransmorpherDDS
To throw something at another creature requires taking the Attack action with an improvised weapon, and it deals 1d4 bludgeoning damage on a hit. You cannot make called shots against target locations on a creature's body in 5e. So you can throw it, but you can't call the shot to the face.
There are no rules for blinding a creature with a custard pie.
You would be much more likely to blind them hitting them in the face with a battleaxe. Nobody is going to let you use a bonus action to blind someone with a battleaxe.
This is the Fun Sponge answer. If your DM wants to run a comical campaign and that's what you guys are down for then they can homebrew whatever they like.
Thats all throw though, what about 5’ range, more like a touch attack?
In that case it's a melee attack with an improvised weapon with which you are not proficient, so you just add your strength bonus to the attack roll. It deals 1d4+STR damage.
Some DMs might rule that, given that the pie lessens the impact compared to a fist, it would just be a standard unarmed attack, but RAW it's an improvised weapon.

It’s much to delicious to waste.
So be a good man,
and hold out your hand,
while I put the pie in your face.”

Blinded? No. Help action? Yes (against a medium sized creature with eyes) and I'd laugh ever single time you did it.
