Our party did 4d6 drop lowest, with *any* 1 being re-rolled. I decided to assign my ability scores in the order I rolled, ending up with -
STR 9
DEX 15
CON 16
INT 18
WIS 13
CHA 13
What should I play with these stats? So far I know we have a druid, a paladin, and a monk. I'm stuck between a rock gnome armorer (infiltrator/stealth) artificer, or a high elf bladesinger. Maybe a blood hunter of some sort? Which would make use of this spread the best?
You might want to rethink - as a human you get +1 to each stat giving you : S) 10 (+0), D) 16 (+3), C) 17 (+3), I)19 (+4), W) 14 (+2), Cha 14 (+2). At that point a bladesinger becomes a pretty good if fairly standard character. At L2 when you get blade singer you should have 12+1d6 HP, and (assuming mage armor + Dex+ bladesinger) AC20. As a mage you get 3 cantrips, 3 L1 spell slots and 6(+) spells. Even without bladesinger yet at L1 you would have 9HP and AC 16 which is actually pretty good (of course, like any low level mage you will be relying on your cantrips almost exclusively since 1 slot goes to mage armor)
Stats Str 9, Dex 16, Con 16, Int 20, Wis 13, Cha 13.
Then when you get 2nd level spells pick up shadowblade. Fight with a blade made of shadow while being a shadow elf? Win.
You got standard elf stuff. You lose a cantrip but gain the ability to teleport. You lose the elf training proficiency but gain the better flexible daily pick skills of the shadar kai. And, then also necrotic resistance for a bonus. Shadar Kai is better for you in like every way, since you're getting cantrips from wizard anyway.

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
It's kind of a homebrew thing, but in a minor way... but I love the idea of a small race artificer as an armorer who rides in a Medium-sized set of armor like a mech. If your DM agrees to that, then I think your Rock Gnome Artificer would be a really cool and interesting build
These stats practically scream "wizard." INT as your highest score and spellcasting ability. Decent DEX to boost your armor class in mage armor, initiative, etc. Obviously, high CON is good for any character. And although your other scores don't matter too much, I think they match the typical wizard flavor fairly well. I'm no minmaxing expert, but I'm pretty sure that going full wizard is the best decision you could make. Also, as cool as bladesingers are, I suggest taking a look at the subclasses in the PHB before rushing to pick it; you already have a monk to do the scrappy fighting, and your party looks like it could use a solid ranged spellcaster.

Panda-wat (I hate my username) is somehow convinced that he is objectively right about everything D&D related even though he obviously is not. Considering that, he'd probably make a great D&D youtuber.

To me that screams Hill Dwarf abjuration wizard. Any wizard would work amazingly well, but thematically that would inspire me to make an Abjurer.
A dwarf abjurer would be amazing both mechanically and thematically.
Con would increase to 18 AND you would get another +1 hp from hill dwarf. Effectively giving you Hit Die +5 HP. So 11HP at lvl 1 + 9 from thereon and you get Arcane Ward too as an abjurer. Insane HP for a wizard. Also dwarf kicks that wisdom modifier up a notch. You don't really need the +2 int from any race with that starting score. You can pick an ASI later.
Mountain dwarf would get you medium armor, but the str bonus would be useless in this build. 15+2 = 17AC at best and half plate is quite heavy for your limited carry weight.
Mage Armor and a feat that gives you +1 dex score would get you 16AC. Plenty enough with the shield spell. Mirror Image for a boost if needed.
A dip in cleric would get you medium armor and perhaps martial weapons too depending on the domain, in addition to amazing lvl 1 spells and cantrips.
I would lorecraft it so that the super high constitution and hp is due to the characters knowledge in protective magic and not 100% natural.

INT user = Wizard or Artificer.
DEX 15 =+2, so good for Medium Armour = Artificer Battle Smith.

I would make a Human Arcane Trickster with a two level dip into Wizard for Bladesinger. You’re gonna love your life.

Artificer or Wizard are definitely the best two options for that stat array.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
