The purpose of these questions is to better understand what individuals want without having to debate over the logic of it. Each question is separate and no inferences should be made by combining two questions together. Limits of this Poll is that it is Warlock centric. Any questions about other classes is from the view of the Warlock gaining something. If you believe that another class should gain something and the Warlock shouldn’t this poll will not allow you to vote that way. It is 100% okay for you to voice that opinion in this thread. People will probably debate with you. Some of them passionately, but your opinion is still welcome here.
Edit: Some of the Questions are Multi choice. Please pick all that apply for you.
Edit: I meant Flexible Casting Stats not to be confused with “Flexible Casting” the Sorcerer Ability.
Thanks, this is a nice follow up that delves into some of the questions the previous poll did not do as good a job of addressing.
For the record, I still find Charisma the most logical for Warlock if they don't have flexible casting, but am perfectly okay with Intelligence being added as an option. If Warlock was changed to Intelligence exclusively, I would maybe be slightly disappointed, but while I think the explanation for Charisma (as I understand the attribute) is a better fit narratively, Intelligence may be a better fit for game balance. I am not particularly in favor of Wisdom being added as an option for Warlocks (and answered that question in favor of Charisma and Intelligence), but I would certainly be able to live with it also being included as a possible casting stat.
I did not answer the final question, because I have not really thought too deeply on the idea of another class being given a flexible casting stat. I would not necessarily be against it, but would worry a bit about the possible multiclassing ramifications, knowing full well that it probably would not be any worse than some of the issues with the multiclassing of the many Charisma-based classes.
I was going to ask you to add these questions to your poll since that thread already had the engagement, but I didn’t want to bother you for something I could take 5 mins and do it myself.
I find it interesting that all the classes that people wanna change to have Flexible Casting so far are the Warlock, Bard, and Sorcerer, which all use Charisma as their spellcasting ability. Changing multiple of these classes to Flexible Casting would cause a huge imbalance between the various mental abilities, as the Cleric, the Druid, and partially the Monk and Ranger would all revolve around Intelligence. And there would be very few classes that were about Charisma or Intelligence and even more that had the option for Wisdom.
That being said, we're only at the start of the wacky data collection and I dunno if this trend will last (haha I pay attention in Science class! See!).

Don’t read to deeply into the data. If any of this was implemented other things would have to be done to maintain balance. Also since the poll is only looking at things from a Warlock perspective we are probably missing important data about everyone’s views of the other classes. I could make a poll about Spellcasting in general that would produce more usable information. Maybe I will do that in a few days when this poll reaches it’s conclusion.
Yeah, I'm not really using this data to make any conclusions about the general opinion on One D&D stuff really. I just wanted to see what the people in the Unearthed Arcana subforum thought and respond to it.

While I wouldn't be opposed to other classes getting flexible casting stats I can't really think of any class where it'd benefit the class fantasy the way it would Warlock. Warlock is the most modular class because at its core the way they get their power is incredibly modular. Flexible casting stats represent this flexibility in the class fantasy. The closest I can think of is Bard, but while bards are scholars in their own right the power they wield always comes from performative arts.
Can you clarify exactly what you mean by Flexible Casting? Is that the Sorcery point feature that Warlocks wouldn't be able to use?
Having Multiple options for Casting stats. Let me fix that in the poll. Well I can’t edit the Poll. I hope a lot of people don’t have that misunderstanding.

warlock skews the curve of need/desire, but if you removed that outlier then bard would stand out from the field next. again it's the dabbling with knowledge, secrets, and research.
even without flexible casting, bard spellcasting should find a way to include a spell/song book. it's one of those things where if you put it in your game (some NPCs hunting for mystical songs so complex they have to read the sheet music and/or include other musicians (until they're well past its spell level in experience, anyway)) your players will hound you for the rules. it's not a hill I'll die on, but I'll certainly keep coming back to plant the flag in my spare time.

I'm not entirely sure I know how to adequately manipulate the tools this forum has to have been able to add stuff to the poll (this was my first time making a poll). I also think that the discussion on that thread had started to get a bit stale and a new thread was probably a better idea.

I do think the Bard fantasy isn't quite being fully realized. Being able to use your musical instrument as a focus is pretty much the only mechanic that incorporates music/performance into your spellcraft, but you don't even need to play the instrument to activate the spell by RAW. Bard as a class could be set up with some really unique casting mechanics to make them stand out from the other arcane casters. Instead they cast like everyone else does. It's kind of a shame.
Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
Now seriously. They are actually an anecdote, a side note. WoTC has shown very little interest in them. And I doubt that that will change in the future.
I would add to this that I'd like to see sorcerers as constitution casters.

I think the last question is a bit confusing; it should really just have been "Which classes should have flexible casting" with the list of classes. The question being reliant on the Warlock having it makes the options a bit strange.
For example, if my preference is for Bard, Paladin and Warlock to have flexible casting, should I include "Warlock only" in the result in or not? I'm guessing not, but it would be easier to just vote for all the classes that should (in my opinion) have flexible casting.
I like Bard for INT/CHA though my reasons for it aren't the strongest; firstly I'd like to see Intelligence Bard be possible purely to chip away at the "horny Bard" stereotype, but also because as the skill monkey class it could support more bookish builds really well. I think it would require a few mechanical changes to really make it work.
I also put Paladin for CHA/WIS, as while Paladins only need to swear an oath now, most of those oaths are going to be backed by a deity whether the Paladin knows it or not, so they're still channelling magic from somewhere else, so Wisdom Paladins makes a lot of sense to me. Although on the other hand, I'd just as easily settle for Wisdom-only Paladins on that basis.

This poll doesn’t cover all that. It only answers the questions it asked and they are specific so inferences aren’t made. This poll is Warlock centric which I stated in my original post.

I'm well aware of that, I was just pointing out that the final question in the poll has the potential for confusion; if anyone includes "Warlock only" in multiple choices then it's going to skew the results and make it harder to draw useful conclusions from the results for that question, because the forum polls don't support mutually exclusive options.

Left them out because WotC left them out the core rules.
