After looking into it, there is ALOT of Unearthed Arcana history, from Stone Sorcery Sorcerers to the Mystic. I didn't realize how much UA there was, and how much of it never made it into publication, so my question to you all is; What is your favorite old UA and why? Mine is probably College of Satire Bard, it fits the whole jester vibe no matter how broken it is.
The original UA Artificer - Alchemist subclass, specifically for the Alchemist Satchel feature. Back when Alchemists could actually create classic alchemical items.
Whoa, after seeing the replies to this post i had no clue there was so much UA history. The Seeker warlock, Theurgist Wizard, and Stone Sorcerer all seem cool. The seeker warlock is probably my new favorite UA, it's such a neat idea.
Then the elemental-type swapping of damage (which we pretty much got with the Scribe Wizard).
The ability to change the type of saving throw was probably what ultimately killed it becoming official...
Adding extra force damage at the cost of spell slots (like an arcane smite).
...and the high level ability to choose a spell to use once per long rest from any other class.
It was a pretty meaty subclass...so many solid features...that saving throw nonsense (changing Wisdom saves to Charisma saves, or Dexterity to Intelligence, etc...) was too much, however.
I liked onomancy a lot, wanted to play Kvothe or something along those lines.

Agreed. Who knows, maybe that will be one of the sourcebooks this year. WoTC seems to do a sourcebook every year
No, it's not gonna be. WotC has a rule that UA that came out long enough ago don't get officially published (unless there are serious changes to it in a new UA, like the Giant Soul Sorcerer became the Rune Knight Fighter).

Personally, I like the Phoenix sorcerer.
The original UA Artificer - Alchemist subclass, specifically for the Alchemist Satchel feature. Back when Alchemists could actually create classic alchemical items.
I have a few dead UAs that I like.
"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
Characters for Tenebris Sine Fine
RoughCoronet's Greater Wills
I have a few. . .
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Spells, Monsters, Subclasses, Races, Arcknight Class, Occultist Class, World, Enigmatic Esoterica forms
I have more as well - I'll just pick 7.
Abyssal Tieflings. Because it makes sense. Also it'd be interesting to play a Tiefling with Demogorgon's blood in them.
Avariel (Winged Elves). They're in the lore! Also I love the idea of a winged elf.
Theurgist Wizard. Why can't magic deities have wizards instead of clerics? It's a nice class.
Raven Queen Warlock. The Raven Queen was basically lumped in with hexblade, which is a big mistake.
Elemental Sorcerer. Yes I know, there's Phoenix, Stone, Sea, etc. and therefore this is a bit of a cheat... but... they still feel necessary.
Mystic. This class had bold ideas, it just didn't use them quite right.
The Seeker Warlock. Because it had good ideas, even if its writing was half-baked at best.
Frequent Eladrin || They/Them, but accept all pronouns
Luz Noceda would like to remind you that you're worth loving!

The Mystic (now officially dead)
- never made it to DDB
Watch your back, conserve your ammo,
and NEVER cut a deal with a dragon!
The Lore Wizard was probably my favorite.
Expertise in the “History” or “Arcana” skills.
Then the elemental-type swapping of damage (which we pretty much got with the Scribe Wizard).

I forgot to mention Onomancy! Edited my post now.

-Archivist Artificer
-Primeval Guardian Ranger
-The entirety of the Modern Magic UA
I'm surprised Modern Magic didn't make it into a sourcebook as a set of optional rules, it's super cool.
Yeah. There were some issues with it, but it definitely should have gotten a sourcebook.

I don't know a lot of the old UA, but I really liked Onomancy!
I am an average mathematics enjoyer.
>Extended Signature<
Yes, because Ged.
I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)
Mystic, Archivist Artificier, Ambuscade Ranger...
In general I like a lot of the UA that pushes the boundaries of what 5e does, too... although those options are always the first ones to get axed.
