Oh I like these, I like these a lot! Considering they're transformed Merfolk, and Merfolk are humanoids, is it possible they'll have spellcasters and other classes?
Anything is possible. Might not be published in the official books though.
Very true, thanks for the response :)
I know that they at least have druids. Not positive about other casters, but it's likely!
Their intelligence is pretty low so it's unlikely. Their crazed hunger probably prevents most of them from forming a clear mine to cast spells.
It’s an evil catfish
GalacticSamurai Maybe have one of their "leaders" have higher intel ? Unless they were intended to be "sea orcs" in which case druid / warlock leaders would probably make more sense...
They have crazed hunger? Are you sure you're not thinking of gnolls?
Anyway, having demonic influence, it'd make sense for them to at least have warlock or dark cleric equivalents. Or even sorcerers, for similar reasons.
I like that sorcerers idea, innate magic inherited by the abyss.
These guys are actually pretty smart compared to other large monsters
my friend insinuated this was a shark, i tried to tame it and it killed me :'/
yeh
yeh? at least give a better answer dude
I mean, you tried to tame a shark... results would've been similar.
The OG merrow were actually aquatic ogres.
This is the statblock for the caster type of merrow: https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/merrow-shallowpriest
Edit: Said Merfolk by accident
Set one or two of these alongside a band of Sahuagin. Have them use their harpoons to drag a party member into the water and let the feast begin
If you cast animate dead on a skeleton of it, will it be a BONE merrow?
I put this against my players and they got wrecked
