Day 11
New feat:
Jolly
Prerequisite: level 8 or higher
Due to your immense happiness and holiday spirit, you gain the following benefits-
Dont have every book on dnd beyond. Do you think it's worth it? Or would you advice on waiting to get every book cheaper if they get ever on sale? Have most of the important sourcebooks, but adventures are all missing...
(now its 15% (for legendary)+15%(calendar)= 27,75%
im hungry
did they give us a 15% off copon for a 1118.14 dollor bundle...
day 22 2023 is the exsaxct same as day 20 2022 i think
Amazing how you can fail at an Advent Calendar so badly, the local cub troop did a better job with a cute drawing for everyday.
D&D Beyond could have put out a color page every day and it'd have done a better job at advertising by exposing children to it early instead of this mess that exacerbated peoples already low opinion.
TL;DR Bad job made bad PR worse.
so the only free stuff has been already gifted before? dude...
Not a single item in this calendar was geared towards people who kept up with the content shared on D&D Beyond in the past year. In terms of actual content or dice it was all re-released stuff for people who missed it. Disappointed
without running a discount on source books or adventures they missed a huge sales opportunity. Yes, the discount would have meant they didn't get the full amount for the books but it's all digital content so any sale is better than no sale.
I was considering picking up the source bundle with the proposed $100 off, but now I'm just going to throw my money at the MCDM game they are developing.
24 days of disappointment.
Yeah, and today's no different. I was looking forward to seeing new digital dice, but I already have both from a previous freebie giveaway.
Merry Christmas eve everyone!
It's the Hasbro calendar, khm I mean Grinch calendar.
Day 23:
£1118.14/100 = £11.1814
£11.1814 * (100 - 15) = £950.419
£1118.14 - £950.419 = £167.721
So we can save nearly £170 on dnd books. That’s pretty good…
I wonder what the hasbro people think of these replies :)
I know some people probably actually worked on this, at least for the visuals, and I hope that they enjoy what they made (if they even still have a job right now).
Look, the code worked, it was a fun festive design and yeah some of us were looking forward to what we might get the next day.
This was a massive disappointment, as someone who has been here a fair amount of time now, getting into the D&D sphere and looking for more products that I can use for the game.
There are three, three reveals out of twenty-four that involve the festivities. 1/8th of your Advent Calendar was geared towards the Holidays. Now someone may be able to convince me that the Action Figure and Coloring Book count as a gift and a Santa Hat is involved, but that's skirting the edge more than anything.
This is a tabletop game, I wasn't expecting anything crazy or required for the game to work or anything, but this is a D&D site.
No fun character sheet customization items, no interesting surprise winter-themed one-shots, etc. Heck, two items on here are discounts on your own site for things people actually would use which is source material. One of those items is the most expensive on the site, which is normally $1118, I won't get into that now, but for a hobby, you basically told people "Thanks for sticking with this Calendar for 23 days, now you only have to pay $950 to have access to every single thing this website has to offer that you can actually use, more than half of which you won't touch for years because Adventurs take a long time to finish."
Moving on cause that is a whole can of worms that doesn't matter here.
Ornaments, fun little D&D minigames that you can print out, heck even bad D&D monster poetry would've been better than this list. Seventeen items take me to another site that makes their own products that are not surprisingly overpriced with the discounts you offered.
Conclusion: This Calendar was a disappointment beyond what I would've imagined, this site offers a great way to make Character Sheets quickly and bring friends easily into a campaign, while easily tracking everything from all of the official source material in one compiled website, while also allowing a nice amount of freedom to create their own content to use in their games.
Nothing in this list gave us anything to use that worked with that. Not even fun maps to push the new feature on the site that anyone could download. Nothing catered to the functions that this website gives to its users. I wasn't expecting all of it to have stuff, even just two to three items, but nothing, none of it. I don't know if anything is happening for Christmas tomorrow, but the people running this website would have to release something astronomically good that generally meets the wants of the users in some capacity to reconcile from this calendar.
I hope everyone has a good Christmas Eve, and if you celebrate something else I wish you a Happy Celebration.
Wow, that was....disappointing.
Love how instead of giving us new dice for the 24th they just rehashed the same ones from the year before 🤣 terrible advent calendar this year
The dice never disappeared either, someone else in this discussion linked to them earlier in the month and I was able to get these exact dice around day 17 or something like that. This is just sad
Utter disappointment. Would've been much better for them to do nothing.
