I really held out hope they’d have something good at the end. Those dice sets were available the whole time, with one user even posting their links daily.
Yeah I took the money I was going to spend on that and bought some Troika books instead. Fantastic job by Hasbro on this.
Worst calender ever, I already had everything there was to claim, it just felt like a cashgrab on WOTCs behalf
Repeated ******* dice...
Sorry, this was the worst half-assed effort I've ever seen. You (dnd beyond) gave away coupons and discounts for things that have been on sale for the last two months. You offered us .jpgs we could print out, color, cut out and hang on our tree - are you kidding me? And then, the thing everyone was looking forward to, the free digital dice sets were the same ones you gave away last year - and my god they're digital dice - they literally cost you nothing. HA! Did you put some intern in the marketing department on this? Super poor showing y'all.
I love how on day 17 and day 24 they advertise the gifts as content that "ARE BACK", as if they had ever left in the first place. You just gave us content that has been free for a while now and acted liked you brought it back as a gift to us. What an insult. Next time just spit in my face and say "Happy Holidays", I'd take it better than what ever the hell this was.
Wow what a waste of a year. Clearly still bitter than we put y'all back in your place when you tried to pull that brilliant stunt earlier this year.
The funny thing about the final day is that they reactivated the dice early. If you followed the link one person posted to all the previous claimable content you could have gotten the dice a while ago.
$100 legendary bundle got leaked, so what do they do? 15% discount.
I’m glad this calendar sucks. Maybe you’ll take the hint next time you try and plagiarise people’s homebrew works.
There was a $100 off the source book bundle that leaked but don't recall a $100 legendary bundle...
Day 19 was supposed to be: Save $150 on the Legendary Bundle. Interestingly, with the way the Bundle pricing works for people who already own some of the books included in the Bundle, $150 savings would have been better than the 15% discount they ended up actually giving. This is because DnDBeyond essentially requires you pay back any savings you might've gotten from individually purchasing books, to make up for the total cost remaining for the books you do not yet own. Instead, we got a discounted toaster.
Really? I didn't know about the leak. That makes the 15% discount even sadder.
To quote The Hulk, "This all seems horrible."
They aren’t.
I was expecting a build up to some good stuff but all the coupons just led to some old stuff most people already had? Amazing.
Absolute waste of time to even bother with this.
Now that were at the end I have to say was a tad disappointing. The best thing on here were the metal posters. I was kind of expecting the last day to give out new free stuff to build excitement but that clearly didn't happen. Thank you to the people that gave out the homebrew stuff (will totally have to use them) and the previous freebies(I had missed one).
OOF. Honestly, if it were just "hey if you missed these dice, don't forget to get them" or the preorder perk digital content from previous books for the first half of the calendar for people who didn't get the preorders, I wouldn't even have been mad. Discount a book or two by 15% or more. Throw in a couple affiliate links or whatever sure, but a lot of this just felt soulless. Even with the Legendary Bundle being 15% off... it's cheaper for me to buy every item I don't own in it individually at full price. It would be a huge gift to someone who needed to buy all books and had the money to do that now rather than waiting for sales, but this calendar is almost definitely the worst one yet (especially when you consider that some of the codes for some of the days literally don't work on those sites lol, or other ones are only available in the US.
I thought the Christmas spirit was giving something without any expectation of anything in return, because you cared for someone. Not this. This is giving someone something that can ONLY be used if the receiver gives the gifter money. It's not a gift. It's an advertisement.
And, before you get on your high horse about entitlement, I own every digital copy of everything available, and physical copies of every WOTC D&D book, going back to the beginning (white box). I don't expect anything free in return and the reason I buy as much as I do, and have, over the years, is to support the developers, publishers, and game in general. Given the state of the company's current appearance, they missed a golden opportunity to show support for the community.
This might be a hot take or really unappreciative of me ... but 24's is really not good.
For those who missed out, great they got free virtual dice of Sanguine and Flourishing.
But what about those who already gotten that dice? We basically get nothing for Christmas Eve. That's awful to me.
Punishes people who had purchased / gotten that content before. Would had been better if it was new dice or something everyone benefits from.
Rest is just discounts or something people have to purchase to benefit from. Really not great guys ...
