Thank You for Adventuring With Us
From all of us at Dungeons & Dragons, thank you! For 50 years, you have shared in our passion to tell stories of heroics and realms beyond imagination. It is an honor to be a part of something that helps bring people together to tell stories that move us. We hope you are as excited about the year to come as we are.
Michael Galvis (@michaelgalvis) is a tabletop content producer for D&D Beyond. He is a longtime Dungeon Master who enjoys horror films and all things fantasy and sci-fi. When he isn’t in the DM’s seat or rolling dice as his anxious halfling sorcerer, he’s playing League of Legends and Magic: The Gathering with his husband. They live together in Los Angeles with their adorable dog, Quentin.
Is there already a plan for localizations of the new books?
While I am excited that D&D has become something that so many more people feel able to play, and I'm glad Hasbro/WotC continues to invest, this announcement is shot through with some grief for the layoffs that Hasbro inflicted on the people who made 5e what it is. Are any of them in the video? I am glad for all those who weren't let go, but this anniversary announcement by a company that did this mostly just makes me sad.
I've been playing since 1980, so this is a very momentous year! And I just finished running The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth with my younger players D&D group (15-18 years old). I'm very curious what the updated adventure will look like and I'm proud that my teenagers can brag to everyone that they have already played it. PLEASE bring back Greyhawk! I've been using it as my primary campaign world off and on for 44 years. All my games since 2017 have been in that fascinating setting because it really takes me back to when D&D was new and mysterious.
Lego D&D and D&D converse hell yeah
I am so happy for fifty years!!!
Sorry, but what happened to all the people in the wallpaper? That is a cursed Bunny Man. 50th anniversary should be human drawn, not AI

Lego ideas had a dnd contest to see what the set would be, this was the winner
Honestly I'm still kinda new to DND as a player and a DM but I've loved every second of it. Making homebrew content and creating wacky and crazy situations with your friends has been a good staple of my experience so far. Hopefully I can grow even more as a player and DM in the coming years.
All we really care about is the release date for the Virtual Tabletop
As part of the 50th there needs to be GREYHAWK adventures!!!!!
Would love to see revivals of the classics. Dark Sun, Greyhawk, Mystara, Kara-Tur, etc. Reprint the old modules and fix all the errors, omissions, and do edits that were sorely needed but missing. VTT release date would be great and a fully finished Abeir/Toril/Abeir-Toril map to run campaigns in. Probably just a dream, but that would make a veteran gamer like me happy.
Well I have time to save up tell September. Not at all interested in the other stuff.
Can I get an Amen.
So exciting!!! Can't wait for the updated release and especially that new adventure! Would love to see more Critical Role (Exandria) content too!
How will you be celebrating Dragonlance's 40th anniversary this year?
Thank you for the wonderful wallpapers
I think that calling them the 2024 and 2025 books will seem weird. It may even confuse "new" Players. Perhaps they should officially be called the Remastered 5e or 5e Revised, which might be better.
Im just repeating myself here because I hope it inspires good ideas. Thanks and 50 years baby!
I think it would be epic to make 5e volumetric like DDO does for 3.5. So instead of a level cap you could continue to progress at either slower rates (expanding the levels to five sublevels or similar thing) or further in depth ie level 100. Scaling outward moreso than just upward. But thats just my personal desire. I like adventuring moreso than just getting new skills so slower progression with sub level tweaks seems much more entertaining to me. I suppose people like the normal progression but having a book on expanding/inflating the progression just seems so much more useful to me.
I just call it Paid Erata.
No events outside of the US (with the exception of London)? How can others get onto your list?
