To celebrate the launch of Stranger Things: Welcome to the Hellfire Club, we invited players to create their own magic items using the D&D Beyond Homebrew tool. You delivered.
From riff-ready gear to the collar of a very good dog, these winners stood out for creativity, clear effects, and on-theme 80s energy.
Here are your five winners of the What’s in the Bag of Holding? Homebrew Item Contest, each of whom will receive a Stranger Things x RSVLTS Class of '86 Reversible Bomber Jacket and a copy of the Welcome to the Hellfire Club Ultimate Bundle:
- aston452 — Sweatbands of Strumming
- Lanaken — Shirt of the Defiant
- Richard40567 — Devil Horn Rings
- kevtori — Flip-Up Shades
- Iggisnilmor — Collar of the Goodest Boy
Thank you to everyone who submitted an item, shared an idea, or helped bring a little more chaos to the bag.

Posted Nov 20, 2025Hey there, I couldn't fully describe the item's features with the 50 word description and modifiers, but it effectively lets you activate the ring to grant allies within 30 feet 2d6 temporary hit points and any enemies within that range must also make a DC15 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
I'll be making a fully descriptive version soon so keep an eye out! 🤘
