2026 Roadmap: A Year of Adventure

Ravenloft: The Horrors Within

In Spring, the Mists roll in as we kick off the Season of Horror—which crescendos with our next upcoming product, Ravenloft: The Horrors Within. This book returns you to some of D&D’s most iconic and chilling nightmares, the Domains of Dread.
We can’t wait for you to get your hands on it and unleash dark legends at your table.
We'll be sharing more about this new book soon, but here are the key dates to mark now:
- Pre-order: April 13
- Master Tier: June 2
- Hero Tier: June 9
- Wide Release: June 16
Season of Magic: Arcana Unleashed & More

After the last scream of the Season of Horror echoes out into the void, we turn the page to the Season of Magic—a celebration of spellcraft, wonder, and ceaseless drive for power.
To kick off the magic, you’ll be able to add new tools to your table in August with D&D Reference Cards, built to keep key information close at hand when the action heats up.
Then, arriving as a source of inspiration for all lovers of magic and the arcane, Arcana Unleashed and the adventure book Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall will debut in September.
D&D Beyond: New Ways to Get Playing Faster

As shared recently in our Development Roadmap, D&D Beyond is leveling up with updates that reduce friction and help groups jump into the fun. From smoother onboarding for players to better ways to find events—and more improvements aimed at helping DMs prep with confidence—2026 will help you play your way online and at the table.
If you'd like to dive into more detail on D&D Beyond's feature releases and stay up-to-date with what's recently come out (like Shared Dice in the Maps VTT), keep an eye on our constantly evolving Roadmap Hub.

Posted Mar 4, 2026Lord Soth does appear in both DL and Ravenloft. He is a part one of the Domains of Dread. There was even a novel titled "Knight of the Black Rose". So, part of it could very well be in this new Ravenloft book.

Posted Mar 4, 2026The information on these is sadly lacking. Does the Ravenloft book contain an adventure or just guidelines to the Domains and updated player options? The game is run by GMs. For the love of the gods, give us some new stories.

Posted Mar 4, 2026Wow, thanks for sharing! Love Ravenloft and looking forward to the new book, but in future would like to see some movement into other horror/fear based campaigns as it is getting Ravenloft is feeling saturated for me, like Forgotten Realms. Took a pass on those books because it feels like old ground…even for 5e re Sword Coast, Storm King, and Tyranny of Dragons, etc.
Recognizing that might come across as negative and want to emphasize that’s not my intention. Will get the Ravenloft book, just want some variety.

Posted Mar 4, 2026I am suspecting it will be a campaign, based on just what we have so far for the 2024 books. Dragon Delves is labeled as a "Adventure Anthology" and Adventures in the Forgotten Realms is labeled as "Dungeon Master Expansion". This makes me think, that since the Deadfall book is labeled "Adventure Expansion" it will be 2024 first real campaign book.
Though this is all speculation, Eberron Forge of the Artificer was labeled "Rules Expansion" and I don't know how that is different from a "gameplay expansion" which both the other two new books will be labeled as. Maybe it's because Eberron was released to directly expand on the original 5e Eberron book instead of a stand alone expansion?

Posted Mar 4, 2026Hopefully we see something actually good coming out of the Season of Champions for martial characters. So far especially with heroes of Faerun, they are mechanically a liability, even though they are (Imo) the most desirable flavor for a character. Maybe we can fix that moreso than make it worse again?

Posted Mar 4, 2026This is underwhelming. six months of no first party content and you lead with Ravenloft? and from the UA it seems like a thin one at that. and then three more months to get what is hopefully a much more substantial expansion book, and maybe a campaign book, maybe just a vignette book and that's it for 2026? come on you can do better than this.
