But they'd see the big board! They'd see all the lights! (But yeah the issue with that solution, as I'm seeing it, is that the DM will need special access that the players shouldn't have. So they'd have to keep asking this player to do stuff etc.)
Can @BadEye or other mods comment on the price discrepancy between the Founders Week Sale and the Legendary Bundle? As it is presented now, it looks like I pay more for the Core 3 books if I buy them via the Legendary Bundle, even during that first week.
Is the price of the Legendary Bundle reduced if you already own some of the components? Or will the overall price of it be lower during the first week, to account for the $10 discount versus 15% ($4.5)?
I think of the pricing for the founder's week sale and the legendary like this: Each is a (virtual) coupon, and both of those coupons say "not valid with any other coupons".
The legendary bundle will be a sort of fluctuating price (raising when new content comes out or decreasing based on what content you've already purchased), but you will always have a 15% lifetime discount on purchasing new books through that bundle. Essentially when ToA comes out, the bundle will be available for sale for you again at the 15% discount price of that new book.
The downside of this is that you will never be able to take advantage of future sales. If you bought the whole founders pack and then decided to buy the legendary bundle, you will essentially be paying $26 for each of those founders pack books. The legendary bundle's full price (without modifications on what you already have) will always be the non-sale price of all books (-%15), as far as I know.

So, the Founders Week Sale gives $10 off each of the 3 books. The Legendary Bundle gives $4.50 off each of the 3 books. So you're paying the $30 back, but you're getting a discount of $4.50 on each book. So really the "lost discount" here is 10 - 4.5 = $5.50 per book, or $16.50 total.
Would the team consider discounting the Legendary Bundle by $16.50 during the Founders Week Sale so that folks don't feel like they're giving up the Founders discount? That would give the extra discount for these 3 books. ['cause you know keep in mind there are probably a few min-maxers in here trying to build for lvl 20 collections X) ]
We got just about everything we asked (whined) for.. you lose a tiny bit of discount off the founder bundle but you gain so much more over each release... be happy with what you've been given.

Hey. I'm actually new to the forum and was trying to make suggestions. Calling that whining isn't really helpful. I just want more people to play and enjoy the content. I'm sympathetic to the developers pricing it the way they have it here, and personally I'm happy with the prices as they are. But if folks were saying "I'm losing my $30 discount if I get the bundle later," I wanted to first point out that it's not $30 but $16.50 and then secondly ask if offering that discount for week 1 was reasonable. The first point was making it clear that the loss is about half of what it was being made out to be ($16.50, not $30) so hopefully folks will realize it's not that bad. Then with the accurate figure I went ahead and asked if that discount for founders week was reasonable. The primary point of my post was to point out that the difference in cost is not as much as it's being made out to be, though. That might have gotten lost in digestion.
If the "whiners" comment wasn't directed at me it's cool, but in general I feel like we should raise the discourse above that. We've got a bunch of folks excited to play, new stuff about to hit. These sorts of questions are on people's minds and asking them / talking through it is helpful. Get the perspective of the developers so that the players understand where they are coming from etc. Sometimes stuff sounds simple from the player's side but there are things the devs see which we don't. Let people ask those questions, feel good about the answers, be respectful.
I think this discrepancy is solved for if you read the Previously-Purchased Content Credit section. I dont math so good, but it looks like you can stack the discounts during week one.
So these prices seem really reasonable, I like the idea of always having 15% off future purchase, will that stack if a promotion is running the first week of release of new content? During the founder week, since the three core books are 33% off how does that factor in to the legendary bundle? Is the first week going to be slightly cheaper for the Legendary Bundle? Not saying the whole thing is 33% but the three core books at 33% and 15% for the others?

Probably not going to stack. If new content comes out with a promotion where it is cheaper to buy it with the promotional price than it is with the bundle price, then you can just buy it with the promotional price instead.

It doesn't. If you buy the Legendary Bundle, you are essentially giving up the founders week discount on just the 3 core books in exchange for 15% off of every book now and in the future. Of course, if you have budget constraints, you can get the 3 core books for a discount now. And then later when it fits your budget get the remainder of the legendary bundle at that time.
Great thanks, I do have further question, if say something later on is more that 15% off like say 30% and I buy it how does that stack against the legendary bundle, based on my math it would be a set price every time something is added, so I would only get the credit for the cheaper price until I wanted to get something else released later on.
Also based on budget constraints can I get the first week bundle and slowly get the other books until I am ready to pull the trigger on the legendary bundle? This way I can work my way up to it?

From what it sounds like, I am assuming that promotional pricing will not be included in the legendary bundle as it will only subtract the amount you paid from the legendary bundle price and you would pay the rest. So if you get the legendary bundle after buying items with promotional pricing, you'll lose the difference (between the promotional pricing and 15%) upon purchasing the legendary bundle.
If that is the case, it would be better to buy the legendary bundle sooner rather than later. Because then you can take full advantage of promotional pricing at any point after that.

Three questions, the answers to which I'm sure are in this thread at least a dozen times, but I haven't been able to find:
1. None of these price points provide a PDF copy as well, right? I share the concern that a lot of other people do on spending a few hundred dollars for a license to something I will have no ability to access if the D&D Beyond tool set goes away.
2. What is the difference between a book and that book's compendium content? Can someone provide a few examples of things I won't have access to if I buy the compendium that I would have if I bought the book?
3. Assuming an app ever becomes available, do we know if the plan is for that app to allow us to access our purchased content offline?
