As the alarm begins to sound over the city, Korine pauses in her tracks, initially confused by the noise and not aware of it's significance. All is made clear as the fleeing citizenry begins to flow past and more details of the attack become clear. The paladin had been prepared for travel today, and fully armed and armored, she turns in the direction of the danger without hesitation. This is her calling. She reaches over her shoulder and unlimbers the greathammer slung across her back. "And so here it begins. The Temple of Tymora? If these undead target the temple, then it seems some force directs them. For now, there is a duty to protect the people of this city. Who will join me? Kulan?"
Without waiting to see who else will follow, Korine heads against the stream of people, eyes hard and face resolute, yet oddly at peace. The dreams, the uncertainly - that mattered not. In this, she has a clear purpose - at least in this moment.
Larken hears the horn and glances over towards Malar's Throat. They have a routine they use when under attack and the locals are used to dealing with these issues themselves. We'd only get in the way if we... Both Paladins begin charging towards the horn blast.
Larken glances over at Cor and shrugs. "I guess we're free labor now," he says. "Come on, we can't let them get killed on their first day." He follows the paladins through the crowd towards Malar's Throat.
"But they are undead, are they not? You are certain the city has this well in hand?" Undril questioned. "Not that I doubt you Miss Jilwyn, but I am not accustomed to...standing by. Not with undead on the loose."
Vistani sighs, but is not surprised the paladins run off to the fight. She follows Larken's lead wondering what she can do against undead. At least, she could help her friends in the fight with inspiration and maybe some spells.

Jil smiled and placed a hand on Undril's arm. "Calm, friend." She encouraged the priestess to continue walking. "Yes, they are undead. The undead are a constant factor here. I assure you, the city deals with this constantly, and has defenses in place for such an attack. Do not consider this trek to the temple as standing by and doing nothing. I assure you, I have every intention on helping with this current threat. But, there are pressing matters I must look into first, and that involves stopping at the temple."
While her words and outward demeanor were calm, inside, Jil was scared. She knew rushing into battle could spell disaster, and she feared watching any of her friends falling in battle. There would be very little for her to do to save them. Her greatest fear was watching someone she cared for die. She took a deep breath and said, "Everything will be fine."
As the group runs towards Malar's Throat it is fairly obvious that the mercenaries have things well in hand. The undead hoard is kept at bay from the city walls for the most part--except the Temple of Tymora. Citizens grab at mercenaries as they run by, exclaim the temple is under attack, before they are brushed off and away. The deeper into Malar's Throat that the group moves, the more obvious it becomes that the Temple of Tymora is surrounded. Despite the screams and rushed feet, there is also the faint sound of screams from within the building. Someone peeked out from a window high above the mess.
The Temple of Tymora sits in the middle of the path of Malar's Throat. It's entrance faced toward the jungle. Larken easily led the party up onto the rooftops, and then onto the ground above that framed Malar's Throat like earthen walls, and then over to the one bridge that crossed above the Temple's entrance. As the party arrived the sight of five rotting corpses, five skeletons, and the half-hidden form of teeth, blood, and bone. The undead pound upon the door to the Temple of Tymora, intent on the priests inside.
As Larken got closer to the Temple, he had an image of himself leaping from the bridge and slaughtering the undead. Their bites and scratches would slide off of him as he tore through each one of them and slaughtered them without breaking a sweat.
He raises his bow, sliding an arrow from his quiver, whispers, "Maybe in another life," and lets loose the arrow. The arrow digs deep into one of the zombie's skulls.
Vistani skids to a stop and looks down and notes that Larken is a good shot. She could inspire him, but decides to first help the paladin, Kulan. He might even need it to figure out how to get down there to fight. She had no doubts either paladin would do their best to demolish the undead. She sings out, "May inspiration assist in a great victory today."
Then she looks at the grouping of the undead and sings, "May the glow of the fey encompass you." A shimmer of violet appears around the back undead that would probably be reached first by anyone that got down there to fight though she can't see the one under the bridge from her angle. It is aimed more to the left of the door and the ones there still blocked from the door by the stone pillar and their comrades.

“Here we go, playing the heroes,” Cor rolled her eyes before taking off alongside Larken. She followed him to the high ground, taking out her own shortbow and drawing an arrow. Hands trembling, the arrow whizzed past one of the zombies harmlessly.
”Have I taught you nothing Cor?” Larken teases her, causing the rogue’s cheeks to turn red. “Chest up, pull back, breath out, release!”
Korine followed Larkin, assuming he knew the most direct route to the Temple. As they rounded the temple, moving up the bridge, she realized her error. She was stuck up here and the undead were clustered below, trying to force their way into the temple itself. She hesitated an instant, analyzing her options, then watched as Kulan made a running leap for one of the stone columns flanking the doors.
Without hesitation, she made the rash decision to do the same, backing up a few steps before making the attempt herself. Attempt. As she tried to hurdle the stone balustrade lining the edge of the bridge, her foot caught the rail as she misjudged the height, and her ability to jump in armor. She pivoted as she tumbled over the edge and the trio remaining above see an almost comical look of shock on her face as it disappears. With a thud, she lands on her back, in a harsh exhalation of breath, and pain lancing through her body. Somehow, she seemed to keep a grip on her weapon, but was still lying stunned with a skeleton and zombie looming over her (At D4).
Kulan realised as soon as the first arrow flew that he wasn't in the best position on this bridge. He looked around, analysing the environment. The pillars looked to be a better tactical position, so he draws a javelin as Vistani speaks. The words being the common for an orcish war promise, Kulan instinctually replies in orcish.
"And the victory will be great."
Kulan backs up to the far edge of the bridge and runs. At the last second, he jumps, propelling himself with the shaft of the javelin. He sails through the air, twisting around as he lands [Athletics 17, burning Bardic Inspiration], launching the javelin straight down at the skeleton below his pillar [Attack roll 16, Damage roll 8].

The zombie looming over Korine body slams right down onto her with a rolling growl. The skeletons turn around, take aim with their bows, and fire. Two arrows whip past Kulan, another falls short of Cor'avin, and one misses Larken by a hair, the second arrow embedding itself in between pieces of armor. With moans two more zombies struggle to climb up the pillar to get to Kulan.
Korine: 11 damage Larken: 3 damage Zombie G7: 11 damage Skeleton E4: 8 damage Skeleton C11 moved to C9
Larken glances down at the arrow in his leathers and with a grunt, snaps it in two. Glaring down at the skeleton he pulls an arrow, draws, aims, and launches the projectile straight into its neck, shattering its spine. The skeleton crumbles to the ground in a pile of bones. "Concentrate, Cor," he says as he draws another arrow, a slight smirk forming on his face.
(Sharpshooter -5 to Attack, Nat 20, 19 Damage on the Skeleton that hit him)
"I am-" Cor'avin tried to protest, but she wasn't as focused as she would like to admit. She caught herself staring at Larken again, instead of focusing on the tide of undead. Priorities. With a shake of her head, she drew another arrow and fired it. The arrow clattered off the skeleton's armor harmlessly, again proving that she was an awful soldier. "... Concentrated," her voice fell.
Kulan looked over the edge, at the skeleton he had hit. Seeing that it still moved, he stepped of the edge of the pillar, crushing it under the sheer force of a falling half-orc. That pile of dust wouldn't be a problem any more [22 Damage to skele, 1 fall damage to Kulan].
"Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust."
Kulan then reached out, resting his hand on Korine's arm, focusing the spirit of battle into healing energy [Lay on Hands, 3 hp].
Vistani wonders about how she will get in the fight but first she decides to inspire Korine as Kulan helps her out. "Rise and fight with might," she sings.
She notes that maybe half of the undead at least are glowing with faerie fire, but finds a good deal of her other spells don't work well on undead. She frowns as she checks the area thinking she might have to go down there. Then she laughs as she remembers she has a sling though she might only be able to do a couple shots not being one to carry a lot of rocks around in her bag.
She steps to the rail and takes aim at one of the undead (e7) and hopes the advantage of the faerie fire makes for a good shot. The aim could barely be better, but the hit was a little bit to be desired. (Attack: 24, Damage: 4)

Lying helpless on her back, Korine didn't even have time to react as the zombie unleashed it's blind fury on her. The pain was overwhelming and a last thought, Is this how it ends... passes through her mind as everything went black.
With a gasp, the young paladin's eyes fly open as the healing power of Kulan's touch surges through her body, washing away much of the pain and damage the fall, and the zombie, had caused. The undead still cluster around them, and she scrambles ungracefully back to her feet, with no time to waste lying there. From up above, she hears Vistani's music and smiles - the fight is not over and her companions rally! While she does not revel in battle, she knows she had the power to fight this scourge of undeath and help the people of this city. Hefting the mighty hammer she swings it at the shambling corpse that had attacked her, dealing a crushing blow that lands with a satisfying crunch.
The zombies groan and the skeletons seem to rattle out of possible frustration. In front of Korine the one zombie that felled her shudders from her hit, and tries to slam into her again. Two of the skeletons begin to climb up toward Kulan and Korine, while the remaining living zombie and skeleton not focused on the door turn around and return to trying to break into the temple with groans.

Kulan swings his glaive at the neck of the zombie before him [Target: E5], the faerie fire surrounding his target making the shot all the easier [Attack roll: Crit]. The wound is shallower than Kulan would have liked, but the savage nature of his orcish blood means that the damage is more meaningful than he initially realises, though not by much [Damage roll 8].
