Probably me being an idiot rather than a bug, but my bog standard longbow is showing D8 +5 damage, but my dexterity modifier is +4, so I thought the damage would be D8 +4. I can't see an obvious reason for it to be +5.
Character is a firbolg, level 5 gloomstalker ranger. I have taken archery fighting style, but that should only increase my attack roll, not damage, I believe.
Apologies if I'm being dense, but it's bugging me!
Your Bow of the Forest counts as a +1 weapon, which adds an additional 1 to attack and damage rolls.
That is also a homebrew item, and I am guessing there is an error in how the +1 was implemented, which is why it is also applying to your regular longbow.
I've got an ordinary bow equipped.as.well though? Has it added the homebrew stats to that as well as the homebrew bow? If it has, then that makes sense!
The homebrew item bow is using an incorrect modifier that is applying the +1 magic bonus to all ranged weapons instead of just that one weapon. That's why your regular bow is also getting a +1 bonus.
