I have a homebrew Artificer subclass that I made to personalize the armorer to fit my character better. I replaced the thunder spells with homebrew lightning variants. I created a homebrew spell "Lightning Burst" to replace Shatter, but it's not being listed as always prepared. It's in my spells known list and I can choose to prepare it. The weird thing is that this isn't a consistent issue, because I created "Lightning Talons" to replace Thunderwave and it is being listed as always prepared.
I thought originally that the issue was that Lightning Burst was unpublished, so I published it. However, it's now the next day and the issue hasn't resolved itself. Is there anything I can do to make it work?

This is a bit of a tricky situation with the way that homebrew works.
When a spell is made Available For a subclass of a prepared caster, the system assumes that that subclass will have the spell always prepared. When it comes to homebrew, this can be problemati — if you create a homebrew spell that is made available for any of these subclasses, then it will appear as always prepared for any user that has access to that homebrew, which includes any players in shared campaigns with you.
In this case, lightning burst has been made available for Tempest Domain, Artillerist, and Armorer, wheras lightning talons has only been made available for sorcerers and wizards. If you are using the regular Armorer subclass instead of your homebrew version, you should be seeing lightning burst prepared. I see nothing that indicates that either of these spells should be available for your modified version... Would you be willing to post a link to your character so that I might have a look?
To properly set up your homebrew subclass in a way that includes your own spells, you should instead add those spells to the Additional Specific Spells section of the subclass’s Basic Information.
I did have them in Additional Specific Spells, but they weren't showing up (only Lightning Talons was). However, I created new versions of the spells without calling out any specific subclasses, and they're showing up now. Thanks!

The subclass is unpublished because it's only a slight modification of the official subclass.
