I just noticed that the races that I've purchased mainly Basic Rules/PHB now have a drop down menu, for example on Dwarf it says two subraces, then when you click on Dwarf, it drops down and reveals the two subraces.
Is it on the schedule to have this be the case for all homebrew races/variants/subraces as well? The genasi has a drop down for the 4 core races, but my own 4 subraces do not go into the same folder. Will it integrate both homebrew and official into the same drop box?
Homebrew subraces have to be updated to take advantage of this, I just did it for my (unpublished) variant. It's a dropdown called "Race Group" under the description. Once you select a race group it will show up with all the standard subraces and variants. For published homebrew of course this means it will need to be a new version.
I hope that they offer this for homebrew races that are not connected to existing ones. I've got a couple with a number of subraces (unpublished) that I'd love to clean up on the character builder. But this is a fantastic step forward.

Yes, I agree we need this! I don't like how one of my races with 5 subraces are scattered throughout! It would be nice to have them be in their own drop folder.
I wrote this in another thread, but this seems to be "the" thread to discuss this so I'll copy this here:
My suggestions is either A) allow us to select one of our homebrew races under the grouping dropdown of a subrace or B) sort these "top-level" races by race and then subrace. Option A is preferred, but I understand that might be a coding challenge. While Option B would present two different visuals (homebrew for official races are grouped together, while homebrew for homebrew races are simply adjacent to each other) it's better than these connected options being scattered all over the page.
Thinking about it, option A may actually be workable since each homebrew subrace is already linked to its homebrew parent race. So maybe just make an organization drop-down option of "parent race" or something like that?
To bring this back in, I can not understand why this is still not an option. Although if I search the race name all subraces pop up separately. It just seems to be something that they glanced over in final design because the code already seems laid out??? I don't know, but I wish they would take more time to alter this.
If I am wrong and there is new updated information I would love to be informed!

Also, is there a timetable on this?

I like the new "folders," but I agree that homebrew subraces should be sorted into those folders, too.
It would also be handy to be able to choose more than one source from the "Filter Race Sources" Dropdown.
