Place up to 50 coins (1 pound) in your coin purse. You may then pull out (or pour out) the equivalent change in any denomination you choose (copper, silver, electrum, gold, or platinum).

Why would you have a cantrip be a ritual spell? The point of a ritual is that it doesn't use a spell slot haha
I love this idea, could also be an extraplanar coin purse.

you hold up the line while you cast the spell and look for change
It's interesting that this is transmutation. Like it actually magically transforms a gold coin into 100 copper coins rather than swapping it with existing, unattended currency somewhere else in the universe. Makes me wonder if you could exploit the mass of the coins this way to weigh down a scale or trap or something, since one 1-ounce platinum coin could create 20 pounds of copper pieces.
Seems like it should be a magic item and not a spell.
Agree.
I would reword this slightly.
Touch a coin purse (or similar small pouch) containing coins weighing no more than 1 pound in total and state a denomination of coinage (copper, silver, electrum, gold, or platinum). The coins inside the purse have been replaced with an equivalent value of the denomination chosen. Some coins may remain their original denomination if the amount of coins originally in the purse cannot evenly round-up to the desired denomination. Coins may spill out of the purse if the purse is too small to hold the number of coins created in the transformation.
A cantrip ritual spell could have some purpose for characters with the Ritual Caster feat or warlocks with the Book of Ancient Secrets invocation. Unlike wizards who can only copy spells of 1st level or higher into their spellbook, nothing in the wording of those features says they can't copy cantrip rituals into their book (although a DM would have to make a ruling on the time and ink required). Would mean they can cast the spell as a ritual without having to select it as one of their cantrips.
This would probably be better as a common magic item, but otherwise great concept.
