Apologies for the double post, but I posted in one thread, then realised I had forgot to merge first so everyone got notified. Please see my above post - they only way to resolve the Encounters that cant be deleted is via Support - as we need to run the encounters via the Rebuild tool.
All the ones I could not delete had untitled for the name. Once I added a name and saved the encounter it allowed me to delete it. The first one did not remove the initial untitled entry after saving its name and then deleting the named one though it came off the list. It may have only needed a refresh.
Except that when I look at it on my list of encounters it is titled. What I'm trying to say is that even though it appears to be Untitled it is not, in fact, Untitled. That part where I went to the trouble to type "Also, this encounter has a name, but when you click on the encounter it comes up as being called Untitled Encounter with no monsters in it," wasn't there because I was trying to hit a word count.
If I could figure out how to add a screen shot, I would show you what I see on my end. Since I can't, you're just going to need to trust me that it is titled and the link goes to something that is Untitled.

Still same issuye here with a named encounter... After unsuccessful delete you indeed end up with what looks like a unnamed encounter, but that's the result of the failed delete, not the original cause. I my case I was able to reuse one failed deleted encounter (not sure if I can delete it now, didn't try), but another one now doesn't get deleted. This time I also cannot edit it, so not reuse it, etc.
My gut feeling says it is the oldest encounter currently in my list that seems to 'jam', as deleting others did work fine until I reused the first 'blocked'. After that the then 'oldest' encounter failed to delete?
A while ago I created a few encounters in the encounter builder, and deleted them after using. One of these encounters, however, refuses to be deleted. The browser console gives me a 401 on the DELETE request, and now when I try to access it and see the monsters in it, I also get a 401 on the GET request.
Deleting encounters has worked fine before and since, it is just this one encounter that seems bugged.
Yeah, I've met this problem of it being untitled before, but that is not the case here. The encounter appears in my encounters list with a name "TW - SB - 03 - Sleeping Quarters", which is the name I gave it, but when I try to delete it I get a 401 error. When I try to access it and see details and monsters, it shows as Untitled, probably because the GET request is returning 401 also. It doesn't even give me the option to edit it.
This doesn't work for me. Instead, it creates a duplicate with the given name that can later be deleted. The original encounter cannot be deleted no matter what I try.
I might have some insight as to the cause of this issue. I click the option to no longer be asked to confirm deletion of an encounter with the confirmation prompt, and that is exactly when I started to become unable to delete encounters. It seems choosing not to have to confirm deletion by checking the box is where the code breaks - losing the confirmation prompt means it never gets deleted.
[EDIT: Meaning, this is something that needs to be corrected in the code on D&D Beyond's end, and cannot be resolved on the "client" end - choosing to skip the extra "confirmation" click seems to be what freezes out the ability to delete the encounter in the first place - at least this is what I have experienced.]
[EDIT 2: After deleting cookies and refreshing by browser, I can now delete encounters again, but I now get the confirmation window again which I chose to opt out of before, and it now no longer has the "opt out" checkbox. So, still forced to confirm each time but at least I can delete encounters again now with a cache empty and browser reboot.]
So, I've been making a lot of random encounters lately and recently I ran into a bug. I make about 4 encounters a session and recently one of the encounters I've tried to delete won't go away. I've deleted it multiple times but the encounter stays in my folder. For a period of time it was even sitting in my encounters without the option to delete it. It doesn't bug me too much but it doesn't give me the option to edit it or rename it. I just get the loading screen "Performing a Wisdom check to find this Encounter" or something. Any clue how I could delete this permanently or at least retrieve it so that I could edit/rename it?
The team have done changes that should mean going forward new Encounters should not be impacted, but we dont know which ones currently are, so you need to tell us when something cannot be deleted so we can rebuild/delete it.
I honestly haven't followed this issue closely as I only have had the single issue with this, Thank you for repeating yourself ( a lot) as I have finally paid attention and have opened my support ticket.
I have the D&D Beyond subscription and one of the people I allow access is DMing a game and using the Encounter BUilder. He has made 8 encounters and it says he needs to buy a subscription to make more. He tried deleting past encounters and it won't delete the old encounters. Is there a way he can delete them or a way that I can see and delete them for him?

I have one exactly the same - https://www.dndbeyond.com/encounters/e218f927-df07-4e78-b5e6-64aeaf0c339c
As I've posted above - if it still cannot be deleted, please follow my instructions to raise a Support ticket.

Hi there!
Give the encounter a name, hit save, then you should be able to delete correctly.
This is an issue that we know about that is being resolved.

Comparatively, when I try to delete an untitled encounter, the console gives me no error at all, so they are different issues
I've merged your thread into the existing thread where we cover this issue - as per my previous post here - https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support/116577-cant-delete-encounter-in-encounter-builder?comment=37 - you will need to raise a Support request.

Hi there, Is there a solution for this yet?
As I've posted here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support/116577-cant-delete-encounter-in-encounter-builder?comment=43 - if you cannot resolve by renaming yourself, it will require a Support ticket.
