Edit: since I wasn't real clear when I made the original post, I had attempted to delete it previously along with a few other encounters that did successfully delete. Maybe an issue with trying to delete multiple encounters in a short amount of time?
i have this isseu as well with this one. it show in the list with a name but when i click it is is an untitled encounter and it gives the notification "Making a Wisdom (Perception) check to find the encounter.." in the middle of the screen.
I have experienced this bug in the past -- having been previously able to fix it by editing the encounter to give it a name -- but now I have a couple of bugged encounters that I cannot edit:
I also noticed when looking at the response from the call to the encounters service to populate the main encounters page that a ton of data for the deleted encounters is still there. It seems to me like either there's a lot of unnecessarily duplicated information in the tables or some "deleted" flag wasn't successfully switched off -- hard to say not having any insight at all as to the architecture of the platform.
I have three encounters in the not delete. They are in a campaign and have a title in the list but when selected they are untitled. When I edit the encounter with a name it creates a new on. The new one is removable but the original is not. Looks like I'm in same problem space with the rest of you.
Same as above. I have an encounter that I tried to delete once - it seems like the encounter itself got deleted, but the link in my encounter listing did not.
When I click the link, all I get is "Making a Wisdom (Perception) check to find your encounter..." and nothing else.
I have an encounter in the encounter builder. I ran it and no longer need it. I've tried to delete it, but it won't actually delete. When I click on it, it can't find the encounter anymore (it finds an empty untitled encounter, though my encounter was named and had monsters in it).
Deleting the encounter does nothing. If I attempt to run or edit the encounter then I get an untitled encounter with a last edited date of 1st Jan 1970. As this is unix time 0 I guess it's just a default 'empty' row in your database that is being created when attempting to interact with the (seemingly) none-existant original encoutner.
I have the same problem. What's weird is the date the encounter is December 31, 1969 at 5:00PM. I can guarantee that I was not making this encounter at that time on that date. Also, this encounter has a name, but when you click on the encounter it comes up as being called Untitled Encounter with no monsters in it.
Numerous folks have repeated issues with deleting encounters. There appears to be a glitch. Double check to make sure that the encounter and the campaign it is in have a name. When these reports first arose, it involved unnamed encounters and/or campaigns, and naming them before deleting the encounter seemed to work. That is not, unfortunately, universally true.
1 - The encounter does not have a name (so is called Untitled Encounter). To resolve this, name the encounter, and then it should delete. (0.00001% of the time an unnamed encounter can fall into category 2)
2 - The encounter does have a name and cannot be deleted. To resolve this, you will need to raise a Support Ticket, as we need the dev team to run the rebuild tool on these encounters. When raising a Support Ticket (http://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket), be sure to select in the form that the issue is related to Encounter Builder, include your Username/Nickname and please include the Name(s) of the encounter and the URL(s).
Here's another for the list. Same issue. It's titled on the list view in My Encounters, but when clicked on doesn't have a title or monsters associated with it. Also, the date is December 31, 1969 @ 6PM.

This bug is over two months old, is there a status update someone can give?
Hey NoBiscuit!
This is the fix that I figured out!!
I hope this helps! :)
Unfortunately, the bugged encounters I have are already assigned to a campaign. :(
I have experienced this bug in the past -- having been previously able to fix it by editing the encounter to give it a name -- but now I have a couple of bugged encounters that I cannot edit:
The encounters are definitely gone as any attempts to call those encounter IDs against the encounter service -- e.g. https://encounter-service.dndbeyond.com/v1/encounters/c4e3ef33-85d7-4c8b-99a2-0a82cd1c6d3a -- return 401 errors.
I also noticed when looking at the response from the call to the encounters service to populate the main encounters page that a ton of data for the deleted encounters is still there. Its named in my encounters list, but shows as untitled when clicked
Named in list, edit it\give it a name... it just creates a new encounter that I can delete, Other one stays.
I am having this same issue.

I've run into this issue today too.

I have been trying to delete old encounters I no longer need, and the delete option does nothing?
